my headphones bit the dust. a decent, but nothing special, jbl
set that worked bluetooth and corded... they kept getting
harder to hear, i just figured my hearing was really going to
hell... difficult to mix or review gongs without a good set of
cans... im looking at beyerdynamics dt 770 pros, and AT
m50xbt. but im open to other ideas... what do you use?

I use AKG k240 headphones. Open back. At $55, cheap. I like them
though.

I'm not much help here, I'm afraid. ::)
Last year I tried two or three pairs of "studio grade"
headphones.
I ended up going back to my ancient pair of Sony $60 headphones
that I've used for years.
Unfortunately, the ear pads are starting to disintegrate.
I end up picking bits of foam offa my head after every
rehearsal. :D

its been so long since ive been in a real studio... but it seems
AT cans were popular and not too hard on the wallet. as bad as
my hearing is, i prolly shouldn’t worry too much about it, but i
like good sounding well insulated cans that serve double duty as
hearing “protection” while im on the tractor... about time to
mow...

well, problem solved! the wife asked what i was looking at...
i just got a pair of ATh-m50xbt from the big brown truck of
surprise! charging them now, theyve got a 40 hr battery!
setting up the tractor with the backhoe again... im thinking
about digging another hugelkultur tomorrow and testing these out
on the tractor!
