I知 deeply troubled brothers
By: AJ Date: June 4, 2020, 10:15 pm

I知 a old bastard now. I don稚 remember troubles like this at
any time in my life. The strife of the 60痴....what is happening
now is approaching the level of those pain filled time. Our
armed forces a world away, involved in conflicts with no clear
goals. Our country besieged by a viral enemy the powers that be
seem impotent to do battle with. Our fellow Americans being
slain by the centurions sworn to protect us. Our President,
threatening to turn the guns of our own soldiery against those
of us decrying the injustices that our own civil war promised to
correct.
Our economy so grievously savaged by the separation brought upon
us by this abominable sickness.
I知 worried and troubled Brothers. I知 old, my time is
immaterial, but I知 filled with worry for my Lad and his peers.

I share your feelings. I'm not much concerned for myself, much
more for my son's and especially for my granddaughter's
generations.
My son lives in Ann Arbor MI where the reports of police
viciousness and brutality seem to be GROWING during a time it
would seem prudent to back it off a bunch. He's outraged, and
starting to make noises that I fear are going to lead to him
doing something that will NOT end well for anyone.
My granddaughter is only 9 years old. She can't understand
what's going on. How do we explain it to her?---without scaring
the HELL out of her?
These are not good times.

No rain here in over a week---daytime highs in the 90s---hit 102
a couple days ago---no rain in the 10-day forecast. Down to 240
gallons of rainwater in the reservoir. Municipal water supply
SUCKS, full of arsenic, calcium, lime, other bad nasties, fucked
up pH...and $40/1000 gallons. Teach me a good rain dance.

We池e in the middle of dry spell too. No real chances for
significant rain for a while either. But July and August are
usually pretty dry. Got the sprinkler going right now.

I wish I could send you fellas some of the rain we've been
getting here.
They're up to their armpits in mud out at the Dinklefarm.
We had another big thunderstorm here in the city last night.
We've probably had 2 inches in the last 4 days alone. :P

Thanks man. Ended up with 0.8" by the time it ended. 240 gallons
in the reservoir, enough for a few good waterings of my trailer
park farm.
My roofer buddy is due in a few hours to tear my roof apart and
figure out this inexplicable leak---they've done every obvious
thing imaginable and it still leaks, so he's opening it up. My
skylight and surrounding area has been tarped since 28MAR20. I
didn't pay $6000 to look at a tarp!
Anyway---while he's here, I'm'a get a quote on gutters down my
entire east eave---60' or so of uninterrupted rainwater
collection. Got a line on some free IBC totes---you know, white
poly cubes in a steel cage on skids, 275 gallon capacity---from
a salad dressing factory! Stack two of them under the downspout,
voila---550 gallons of added capacity.
Then, the irrigation system---

We have one of those totes at the shop we use for oils we change
in compressors and our trucks. I think it costs us about $40 to
have the oil recycle guy out to reclaim and recycle the stuff.
Hell. I pour cooking oils in there too. He doesn稚 care, it痴
all filtered, separated and recycled.
