New phone day
By: dinkleburg Date: May 28, 2020, 7:31 pm

UPS delivered me a new Samsung Galaxy S10e yesterday.
I spent a couple o' hours setting it up and getting shit
transferred this afternoon.
It's taking me a bit to get used to the fingerprint reader being
integrated into the power button, but it sure is convenient for
one-handed phone operation.
Having stereo speakers is a nice touch, too. It also has Dolby
Atmos, and the sound stuff is apparently done by AKG. It also
came with a pair of AKG earbuds. Looking forward to listening to
some tuneage on it.
At this point, I'm pretty pleased with it. 8)
We'll see how I feel about it in a couple of weeks, once the
shine is gone.

Sounds like a pretty trick piece of “kit”, as our friend Evil
Imp would say. My iPhone 7 has the thumbprint thing going on and
it’s damn handy for logging into stuff. But no stereo or any
cool stuff like that. I don’t think I have ever even plugged
headies into my phone. I don’t have any music on it. I talk on
it though.
It would give me great pleasure to hear your voice on my phone
at some point Dan.

It's a mid-level phone price wise, but it does have some nice
toys in it, for sure.
I have 100+ Gb of music on the SD card in my phone. I use all
the time as a Walkman, or streaming over Bluetooth when I'm
driving or at home. I probably use it more as a GPS and media
device than I do as an actual telephone.
One of the reasons I went with this phone was because it has an
actual headphone jack. A lot of the newer phones don't anymore.
The other factor was the physical size. In the Android world,
most high end phones are close to 7 inches. They don't fit in a
pocket very well and are difficult to use with one hand.
I'll have to work myself up for a phone conversation, Jim. It
sounds stupid, but I have some social contact issues,
particularly right now. :(

Hey, we can talk here and that’s good enough bro.
My iPhone doesn’t have a headphone jack. Then again, I don’t use
for listening to music so it’s ok. I use it for phone calls,
messaging, email, forums, shopping, nav, just about everything
but listening to music.
