not being able to gig is a bummer, for me it is not as bad since
I have a day job
but for some of my friends who are either pro musicians,
soundguys, crew etc. it is really critical
a lot of them are struggling to make a living at the moment

Everything is going to 50% here today. Restaurants and amusement
parks.
Still having protests everyday. George Floyd’s funeral is here
next week. I’m wondering if the protests will reach their apogee
soon after, or the energy of the movement maintains a force that
goes right up to Election Day. I hope it does. Not because I
think Biden is a deliverer, but because Trump is a fuckstick.

They're talking about going to stage 2 of reopening in the next
week or two here.
So far, our numbers have been good, and they've now opened up
testing to whoever wants one to try and get a handle on
infections versus hospitalization/mortality rates.
We've had a few peaceful rallies here in sympathy to what's
going on south of the border.
Canada doesn't like to admit it, but we have our own issues with
racism, too.
The world's a fucked up place. :(

we opened up the beaches three weeks ago because, “ the numbers
looked good...”. this weeks headlines read floridas covid cases
have suddenly tripled... blind... greed blind, leading the
pridefully ignorant...

I was a bit of a germophobe even before covid came along.
Sometimes to the point of it getting in the way, to be honest.
That being said, I am trying my best to strike a balance between
being safe and still being able to get on with life.
We don't (at least for now) have any numbers even close to what
is happening in your part of the world, and I am thankful for
this.
Depends on who you talk to re:leadership.
If you have a spare couple of hours where you don't get a chance
to talk or have an opinion, sit down and ask my brother about
our leader. ;D
I try my best not to care or have those sort of discussions, but
it's not always possible.
It does sadden me when I think about how polarized things have
become south of the 49th. :(
It also scares and disappoints me that it's starting to spill
over to here, too.

The Harris County Judge is threatening another stay at home
clamp down, Cases are blooming down here since things started
opening back up.
I'm beginning to think there is going to be a vicious cycle of
close down, open up, close down chaos.
