Glad to hear you guys are doing well and managing to stay
healthy.
I'm doing well, too, all things considered.
Just had a video chat with Mama D from her room in the long term
care centre.
She says they are starting to allow social distance visits
outdoors in the garden. I will call on Monday and see what the
deal is.
I haven't seen her in the flesh since March 15. It would be nice
to see her, even from 6 feet away.

Good to hear from you Dan. I’m glad you and your’s are doing ok
in these strange times. I know your Mom would much prefer to see
you in the flesh, as would you her. Even if from 6 feet away and
with a mask on.
Have you been playing? You and your old buddy still getting
together? Are bars open in Canada?

Hi, Jim.
The bars, and what seems like almost everything else, are shut
down at the moment. All stores are closed, with the exception of
food, liquor, hardware, pharmacies etc.
I haven't been playing very much, and my weekly get togethers
with my musical buddy haven't happened since early March. Both
him and his girlfriend live with an elderly parent, and we
decided it would be best to limit their exposure to the world
that would happen through us.
The government has already forced cancellations of all
gatherings greater than 15 people for the rest of the summer, so
most of my summer plans have also been cancelled. On the bright
side, I didn't have much of a schedule to begin with. ;D
Alberta's numbers have been relatively low, with a few
exceptions in the southern end of the province. They're going to
start opening things back up next week, but if the numbers start
to climb, it's back to the lock-down.
Weird times, these be...
Stay safe, my friends!

So how is everybody? What’s open, what is still closed?
Down here some restaurants have opened, but at no more than 25%
occupancy. The vast majority have elected to stay closed except
for drive through, online and delivery Bars are still closed.
Gyms are still closed.

Thursday was the first day of our phase one reopening.
Retail stores, dentists, hairdressers and most other small
businesses are allowed to reopen if they follow certain
guidelines.
Bars and restaurants can now have table service, but only with
50% capacity if said 50% capacity doesn't exceed the social
distancing requirements.
Provincial parks are reopening, but I believe the national parks
are still closed.
You can also have an outdoor gathering of 50 people (up from
15), provided everyone stays 6 feet apart. Good luck with that
one. ;D
Indoor gatherings are still limited to 15 people.
That's it in a nutshell, but it's worth noting that the Calgary
health district is still under lock down as their numbers are
still what the health department considers high.
I personally think this will only encourage some people in the
Calgary district to travel to other districts for some of the
above services. I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not.
On a personal note, I still can't visit Mama D in her long term
care facility.
That part truly sucks. :(

Mojo sent to you on the Mama Dinkleberg thing bro. I know how
much you both love each other and it's got to be hellish for
both of you right now.
But I guess it's good news things are loosening up a bit....I
guess...Provided we all don't get a rapid bloom of corona cases.
Perhaps you'll be able to get together with your buddy and jam
and grin a bit in the near future and that would prolly put a
DinkleSmile on your face. ;D

a bunch of local musicians got together for an outdoor
re-opening... a coupe places have solo, duo stuff outdoors...
last week when georgia alabama, louisiana, etc... opened back
up, they all flocked here because there is a magic bubble around
florida that protects people... beaches are crowded, stores
are full of tourist licking doorknobs and trying to mingle with
the locals... like nothing at all is going on. and the ever
present morom contingency that just doesnt quite understand that
no, karen, a mask isn’t slavery and you dont have the right to
infect me with your stupidity and shortsightedness... at least
i havent seen any of the darwin volunteers like up in
michigan... fucktards in camo leotards with guns in the state
capitol... i know theyre here, its the bible belt... these
people think televangelists and pro wrestling are the real deal,
baby... i havent left the sanctuary since the 16th of march
except once to get fuel for my tractor. i followed sterile
procedure with my gloves at the pump/card interface and wore a
mask, freshly shaven... not even a mustache! headed to
tractor supply for a few things and sat in the parking lot for a
moment... watching the oblivious lick their fingers, pick their
noses and scratch their assets as they share their wealth with
any nearby... i just drove off, realizing i can order just
about anything i want, exactly the item i need and have it in a
day or three... ok a week right now, but i like slowing it
down... im gardening, building hugelkultures... taking a more
relaxed stance on the farm. the perimeter and several acres
central with a corridor for wildlife... letting it come back as
naturally old floridian as possible. this is pretty much what
i do or did... before. take care of the critters, feed water
groom and entertain 7 horses, three llamas, two ringtail lemurs,
a bunchafukkin parrots, cats, dogs, donkeys, oh, two bearded
dragons... oh, kids... they want to eat like every day? play
my gongs, guitar, drums, flutes or kazoo... flew the drone
yesterday and dropped in on a doe from about 90 meters altitude
@ 40 mph/65kph (... got within 10 meters before the props
spooked her! but right niw ive got rain on a tin roof... a
hammock set up beside the gongs and i feel a nap coming on...

Brother.....Thanks so much for this post. It really lifted me up
knowing that there are others that realize he fat lady ain’t
sang yet on this pestilence. That I, my nieces and nephews
aren’t the only ones that are skeptical, to say the least, about
the rush to relax vigilance efforts against this unseen invader.
I wouldn’t single out Michigan though. Stupid is everywhere.
I was working on video and photos for my Darlin’s memorial today
when I was simply overwhelmed with sadness at my loss. I wept a
little while. Then, I had this epiphany, well, sorta.
See, my honey was a very nervous, sorta scared gal. Strong in
many areas, loving in all. But this corona shit would have had
her scared to death for me and all those we loved. I’m grateful
in a weird way she was spared that misery.

i get it... im scared myself... not so much for myself, i
pretty much accepted my own mortality twice during michael,
so... the thing that gets me is feel helpless... i read about
imps sister and family, dinks family, your family... and feel
that nothing i say is anything that could really help... my
friend, stanley... on the navajo res in az under lockdown. his
wife got dehydrated and some kind of poisoning... took all day
to get her to the hospital then they made him walk home or pay
1000 dollar fine... he has no running water... if i lived
within good striking distance... but im fucking worthless.
how the hell is he supposed to live without water in the damn
desert? working in hospitals and rehab and always being of help
in times of need all my life and now im not feeling so helpful
in word or deed... i slept a good bit today, we are in a
drought and it finally rained. i was in the shed playing gongs
and hit the hammock when the rain started on the tin roof...
maybe im just tired...

Florida was on the news this morning because of some 3000 person
gathering.
Some people think they are invulnerable, and many think it’s all
a hoax.
Stupid is everywhere.
