Well I have gleefully pissed away this gloomy, cloudy day

....been cloudy, cold and dreary outside today. Had no reason to
venture out. Laundry is done. House is clean. Could have
puttered musically......but the Mecom Motorcycle auction from
Vegas has been on and I have truly enjoyed just drooling over
all the bikes transiting across the auction block. ;)

It was a gas watching all the old and not so old iron roll by. I
wasn't surprised by the prices on all the old bikes, but I was
taken aback at how valuable the Japanese bikes from the 60's and
70's are now. Honda Cl and CB 450's going for 10k and more. In
fact most of the older Honda's, Yamaha's, Suzuki's, and
Kawasaki's were all bringing big money, displacement not even a
factor. Dirt bikes, street scramblers, cruisers all bringing big
money. Tons of early euro bikes, some I'd never heard of,
beautiful machines, engineered out the ass. Several Vincents,
not just black shadows either, DFW's, BSA's, Truimph's, BMW's.
moto Guzzi's, Ducati's. Old and not so old.
Of course tons of Indians, HD'S, every era. Even Cushman's. lol!
Remember those? Tons of scooters as well. A few Whizzers in the
mix. Throughly enjoyable and nostalgic afternoon.
All these auctions....I still have never seen a Famous James
across the block. One of those was my Dad's first motorcycle.
125cc's of Brit power. He only had one picture of it and it's
lost to time.

You’ve posted pics here before ya goofus! All those bikes
mentioned are worth money Bro! Triumph’s of the 60’s were
gorgeous, sleek, muscular thangs! My little brother has owned
several HD’s. Arthritis and cancer ended his riding days though,
and provided the seed money for him to build several cars and
flip them.

We've had about a week of bleary dreary cloudy days in a row,
temps steady in the low 30s. Getting light snow now but it's
barely sticking. Sure would like to see some sun.
As for bikes---can't ride anymore, left leg won't hold me up.

I haven’t ridden in probably 9 or 10 years. It’s just too
dangerous down here. You have to ride about an hour just to get
out to safe riding roads.
