Stipe is one of my heroes. I still think of him when I write
songs. However, he is a little detached, as if the septum
piercing wasn't enough proof.

Well...I do trim my facial hair a little more regular. And I'm
not quite as gaunt...Nor nearly as talented as Messr. Stipe. Nor
as rich.
But beyond that, yeah..we're twins! O0

Actually that was me. Losing my religion.
I found my religion, now I can't find my car keys (line stolen
from David Letterman from many years ago).

Bruce Johnston of the Beach Boys wrote that song, ironically. He
also sang on The Wall.
God, I love the Beach Boys.

Unless you're being facetious, that's something I'd have never
guessed about you.
My cousin was nuts for The Beach Boys. I dug, and dig a lot of
the later stuff they did, after Brian's talents really
blossomed. "Wouldn't it be nice","Caroline, No", "Sloop John B",
"God Only Knows". "Good Vibrations" are probably my
favorites....But "I Get Around" still rocks...Don't hear that
one anymore really. I know the "Pet Sounds" album was a big
influence on Paul McCartney and inspired "Pepper" to a degree.
They had a huge influence on rock music even though they had a
squeaky clean image put out by the Wilson Boys manipulative
father, Murray. But they were all heads. Drugs and dysfunctional
relations with his father were responsible for Brian's mental
breakdown.
