...This Ken Burns doc on Country music.
Starting to realize I missed the boat, so to speak. At least A
boat.
Country music that is. The first music that really got me goin'
was rock music. I turned my nose up at country music. Thought it
was simple, base, stupid shit.
I was really wrong........Really, really wrong.

I grew up listening to a lot of country music, but it wasn't my
choice.
It kinda made me grow to hate it by my teens.
I've since mellowed (got old), and now I listen to a fair bit of
classic country.
Never saw that comin'. ;D

...Watched the last episode tonight. The series ended with the
death of Johnny Cash...All the travails he had musically in the
latter parts of his life...Dropped by his record label...Playing
in Branson, Missouri to crowds of less than 200 at times....Then
Rick Rubin, a Rap and Metal producer approaches him, and he
turns out one of the best albums he ever made, then another,
then another...Wins every award you can win, musically.
June dies, he dies 4 months later.....It all made me really sad.
But it ended the series with a caballero of performers that are
keeping that music alive, and that made me happy again.
I know what you mean Dinks...I turned my nose up at country
music most all of my life....And I think I missed a boat I
should have at least taken a ride on....
