the lad came home for a bit today
DIR By: AJ

---------------------------------------------------------
...Some textbooks he'd ordered arrived earlier this week. I
grilled a passel of pork chops, made a big batch of a potato and
cheese recipe I learned from y mom, and put on a big pot of
mixed navy and pinto beans. Baked some cornbread...He brought
some laundry with him. We had a great visit. He's gotten settled
in nice and is getting to know his way around the campus. He
said the big eye opener was the class sizes. A couple of his
classes have more than 120 students in them.
He's pretty pumped about the botany class...Sez there's a lot of
lab work in the offing, and projects in the greenhouse...Right
up his alley.
He's worked at Home Depot here in Katy every since he left high
school, and getting hooked up with some hours at the Home Depot
in Huntsville was a phone call and a breeze. Sez real nice folks
in his department and the his new boss is a really affable guy.
I got the impression his kid sister doesn't stay there every
night, so he has time to study in peace. Everything is good, one
week in.
Course, you ain't gonna beat my wife out of a good cry...Which
of course she did when he left 4 hours after arriving. Sent him
home with plenty enough home cooking to get him by for a few
days. Clean clothes...And I snuck 40 bucks into his wallet when
he wasn't looking.
He had a good visit with the bird as well...Was clear they both
miss each other.
i told him to make sure he shared some of the food with
Sis....He grinned, and said, "Oh she's back home until
Monday"....
like he's gonna eat 6 pork chops, 2 lbs of potatos, a lb of
beans and a dozen pieces of cornbread in 48 hours.
He misses my cooking..... ;D

and dano? my “half right” poast today was directed at
deependz... youre half right he is fucking simple... and i
just figured out why he pisses me off so fucking hard... theres
nothing wrong with being self taught... and i fully believe in
the phenomenon of unconscious genius.. but unfortunately the
two dont always coincide and sometimes self taught is just
bassackward homemade horseshit because thats what its based
in... now add a heaping helping of “know it all” that just
smacks of googleitis... we have experience gleaned from
lifetimes of doing it... not reading something and forming a
half baked theory about the easiest way to change the oil in a
67 volkswagon when youve never cleaned the grease off a
goddamned wrench... recording vocals sitting down because you
“sit at a computer”... he records with a computer... so he
just admitted he is either the laziest fucktard on the planet or
just plain dumbass knothole ignorant... “i cant reach the
enter button if im standing”. “im too stupid to trim the
audio”... “every real musicians posture is controlled by
the operational position of turning on their recording
device”... his reply to me took days to formulate and at best
would rate third grade retort... one obviously must record
vocals from seated because... (no good reason unless you cant
stand)

He "corrected" me when I said, in a conversation about capacitor
values, that a .047uF cap would be appropriate in someone's
Tele. "My bass has that value cap, I doubt it would have any
application in a guitar".
WUT?
He doesn't know shit about common cap values and he doesn't
understand how a R/C circuit works in instrument wiring. He
knows HIS BASS so he's going to correct me, who has (pardon my
boasting) been inside more guitars than he's probably ever seen.
Yes, that kind of presumptive, condescending, know-it-all
attitude is frustrating to the max.
I also "enjoy" the way he will fully engage, then admonish (he's
done this to both you and me now) that Phil told us to ignore
him. No, sorry, there isn't one set of rules for you, and
another for everyone else who calls you out on your shit-talk,
idiot!
BTW, my original response to his mic stand weight idea was my
attempt to be congenial. Why not just use a small weightlifting
plate like everybody else does?---or whatever ::)

Dano, Dudley. I don’t understand, exactly, why you gentlemen
even bother to engage Depends. The man is a swine. I refuse to
engage the asshole. Since I gave him a load of shit for his dump
on Dano in the build thread, I have not interacted whatsoever
with him. then again I haven’t done much at HC lately anyway.
I see the stupid, arrogant, “i’m smarter than you” horseshit he
spreads. I just ignore it. He isn’t worth my energy. He isn’t
worth y’all’s either.
Tuco is alright. He posts some fun stuff.

himself into the capacitor discussion with his know-it-all
know-nothingness and I just had to respond. I was totally
factual and non-insulting. Phil straightened him out, so I
didn't have to.

Good deal. Phil has put him in his place a couple of times, but
he refuses to stay there. He’s a pompous ass.
