Yeah, he's a good egg. I've never interacted with him I don't
think...But that's maybe a good thing...Means I never pissed him
off...Maybe...
If you think he'd be a good fit here, invite him. just make sure
he knows we don't do politics in here.
I don't really like having to say no to anything. I'm just not
willing to lose anymore friends over that sort of thing.
I have lost friends in here over political squabbles and the
collateral damage that ensues.
Lost Luke17....I'd felt really close to Luke...We'd had a
shitload of fun together. He won't talk to me anymore. I've
tried and he made it clear he no longer wanted to hang at all.
There were other things he didn't like about the way I was
running the place as well, but it was a blow up about the Vegas
shooting that I guess set things off. It still smarts that he
doesn't want to hang though. We'd shared a lot...Felt really
close to him.
Plus...he's always the coolest guy in the room. I don't mean
that HE thinks he is, he ain't like that, he's just a really
cool cat with a great sense of humor, a million stories about a
million things. A real style about him..
Lost Bucky...But that was not politics...He got butthurt because
Indigo Dave gave him his honest opinion about his music and
Bucky went on a tangent about it. I told Bucky to get over it.
You can't make someone like your stuff. Dave has no filter. He's
a straight up, tell you what he thinks guy and I admire that. I
liked most of Bucky's stuff. It's esoteric, to be sure...But
he's got talent. Anyway Bucky quit. I still sort of hear from
him. He's a writer and I bought a couple of the things he's
published from Amazon and he's really creative. He can't take
criticism though. That's a open wound in any forum. If you post
up music, you better be ready for the truth.
Anyway, if any of you guys see someone you think would be a good
fit in here, by all means invite them. Just encourage them to
read "Welcome to the Basement" to see if they can hang with the
spirit of the place.
