       Happy birthday, ya old curmudgeon!
If it's your birthday, why did I get the gifts?

No evil intent intended. Just the date they gave me for delivery
at the kiosk. I kind of like the idea of celebrating that way
though. I used to give my Mom and Dad small gifts on my birthday
from time to time. Seemed appropriate.
Enjoy Brother! I'm enjoying the gift you gave me! :) :) :) :)

Enjoy, we will! This hoity-toity new restaurant recently opened
in Fenton---one of my nieces waits tables there, one of my
nephews tends bar---I guess we'll have to go check the place out

All in all, had a great birthday yesterday. I’d taken yesterday
and today off from work, so I slept in a bit yesterday. The Lad
was off as well, so I fixed us all a nice breakfast, generally
relaxed and spent sometime in the backyard simply enjoying the
October like weather. Moved the sprinkler around the yard,
opened some cards. Played around with the Tele. Got some Amazon
gift cards, and browsed around but bought nothing. Stayed full
from breakfast, so eschewed having lunch.
Then met my brother and sister-in-law for dinner at a local
Mexican food place. Has become a tradition with us all to meet
there for birthdays. Dinner is the birthday gift, with small
gifts as well. Got a nice new shirt. Came home full and sacked
out at 10. The wife didn’t sleep well, as her back is killing
her. She’s still sacked out this morning so I’m keeping it quiet
with just some coffee and amusing myself with the phone.
67 and a day and I ain’t dead yet. All is well.

AJ, Cindy and I discussed this in some depth---neither of us is
any too enthused about the hoity-toity restaurant idea (probably
wouldn't let me in wearing my overalls anyway).
We decided that a better use of the $100 gift card you so
generously gave us would be to stock the freezer and pantry.
Much more practical. We're not "broke", but finances have been a
bit tight lately---truck insurance, registration, renewing my
driver's license, and medical co-pays all hit at the same
time---not much in the grocery budget. My SS disability back pay
should arrive soon so it's a temporary situation.
       Sound good to you?

Bro, that card was a “Thank You”. For whatever you wanted to do
with it! I’m just glad it came in handy! ;)
