Well...The washing machine has taken a final shit

I've been babying this thing along for 11 years now. I've
replaced motors, pumps, bearings. timers. This morning while
spinning a load of towels...One of the struts snapped off from
pure metal fatigue.
Told the wife, "It's done, and I'm done with it". Placed an
order at Best Buy on anew one and will pick it up this evening.
The lad will be home from work by then to help me get it out of
the truck, into the laundry room and hook it up.
Off to the recycle joint for Ye Old washer.....

Ours ate it in late Sep16. We bought the cheapest Kenmore unit
we could find ($315)---still going strong, zero problems. Does
everything we need it to do.
Incidentally, we have no clothes dryer. Umbrella-type
clothesline outside (against trailer park rules, but fuck 'em,
many residents use them) and a retractable one inside that
stretches 2x across the living room. Suits our needs.

We have a dryer. But for years we had a clothesline because my
wife liked how the clothes smelled when dried in the open air.
Doesn’t take long to dry clothes outside down here for most of
the year. Not having a dryer is one less thing to break so
you’re the wiser man.

The new washer is a quiet one. It has no agitator. Weird. Got my
uniforms clean though. Wife under the dark cloud right now, so I
did all the laundry. Had to keep checking if it was running,
it’s so quiet.
