Easy Rider turns 50 in a few days

I saw it, five times in a row, the weekend it was released. My
cousin was over for the weekend we went to see it early Saturday
morning and we just kept going to the can and the concession
stand, then going right back in to watch it again. We were
       transfixed by it really.
Having watched it dozens of times since, I could prattle on for
hours about how the soundtrack fit the scenes, about how it
essentially is a Classic Greek Tragedy. But I’all spare you all.

Seriously significant flick in a lot of ways. I know what you're
       saying.
I saw that movie for the first time at about the same time as I
read Ken Kesey's "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" for the first
time. The only role I had ever seen Jack Nicholson play was his
character in "Easy Rider". When I heard he'd been cast as RP
McMurphy for the Cuckoo's Nest movie, I thought "no way".
Sometimes it's nice to find out how wrong you can be 8)

So many movies...So few stand up against the test of time. Those
two examples do. "2001 A Space Odyssey" still holds up to.
Sometimes, it's not groundbreaking cinematography that
does...But the themes, and dialogue that do.

       78. Not a terrible number. He’ll always be that guy on the
chopper for most folks. IMHO, his best acting performance was
the beekeeper/Dad/Vietnam get in “Ulee’s Gold”.
