       solid state or tubes?

       yes please!
       ss= roland jc77
       tube= marshall origin 50
these two are the most recent. ive had the roland about two
months and just got the marshall... ive waited long enough to
replace the old plexi i sold to help keep the wife in school...
       back in 1978...
love the chorus in the roland, thick, fat cleans...
plugged the gold top into the marshall and was happy... but
slightly underwhelmed... i was expecting plexiness... and got
“close to plexi” ness... so yesterday i dusted off guitars.
tele, ovation breadwinner, les paul, and the
       Fresher,Straighter... its a japanese strat but better’n
fender... ask james browns lead guitarist if ya dont believe
me... anyhow, after a lifetime of being a gibson man... i am
in love with overdriven harmonics and the clarity of single coil
neck pick ups on strats... time to warm the tubes and vibrate
the neighbors coffees... they shoot their guns and fireworks
when im in the fields with horses... you need a little cream
with my tube crunching sweetness this fine sunny marshall
morning? pardon me... im working up an old hendrix tune or
       three today... robin trower anyone?

Been a t00b snob for years and years---BUT!---recently got a
little Fender Frontman 25 in a barter, and I gotta say, for what
it is, I am very impressed. Not gonna give up my P2P handbuilt
Gilmore Jr for it, but dang---

The Roland JC line ha been so good for so long. I never played
       thorugh a Plexi...At least i don't think so. I did have a
Marshall JCM 900. Fity watt combo, 2-12's. The overdrive sounds
were really sweet but the cleans were under whelming. never
managed to coax those Marshall 'Bubbles" out of it.
       I've got a Line 6 now. It reminds me of a Yamaha FB-01 I had. A
synth expander. It had 250 sounds. About 20 of them were good.
And I am all about Jimi and Robin! Two...Maybe my favorite two
       Strat Slingers ever!
Robin still plays and plays well. I have a DVD my sister gifted
me with a few years ago with him playing a really small venue
and still getting his classic tones, still spot on with his
riffs....Still milking a Cry baby as good as ever.

i saw robin play in charleston wv civic center... bridge of
sighs tour... angel and mother’s finest were the openers.
e was sooooooooooo. sofa king loud! a wall of marshall
stacks all on standby and a 50 watt half stack plexi, mc’d at
the very end... the things we did to our ears...

He(Robin)was fond of 6x12 Marshall cabs. I never got to see him
live though. Jealous! Saw Jimi 3 times though. First time, 3
Sunn stacks. The other 2 times it was all Marshall’s.

i ran a sunn coliseum for a few years... what a monster!
ended up using a fender dual showman with two 15” jbl d140f’s
       beside the sunn cab...

I always loved the look of those silver JBL cone covers kinda
playing peek a boo through the grille cloth. They honked too!
Dual Showman were really good amps for bass back in the day. I'd
like to have one just to look at it. Lol. ;D
