Played the Danocaster until my hands started cramping last
night. Still fairly blown away, but Dano told me to shuddup and
play so I saluted and marched. ;D
       First impressions..
The finish and appointments of the guitar really impressed me.
The black pickguard set against a fairly natural wood finish
looks tre cool and kinda wicked. The bridge pickup is
exposed,(No plastic cover) and looks cool. The maple neck looks
fresh. Same diameter as near as I can tell with a ruler, is
identical to my Strat and feels familiar in that respect. The
neck is faster than the one on my Strat, which I suppose is due
to the heavier lacquer on my Strats neck. ( A lot of people
disliked the heavy lacquer on 80's Strats and were prone to
sanding it down, I never did). One of the string trees is a bit
discolored which only adds to the "Partscaster" charm of the
       guitar.
Dan had, as appropriate, completely loosened the strings prior
to shipping. The guitar was easily brought to tune, and after
playing a few minutes, retuned, and it stayed in tune. No
intonation problems whatsoever. The machine heads, while I know
not their brand, are tight and solid, no creaks or wattles. They
stay put! The hard tail bridge surely helps keep her in tune.
The floating vibrato on my Strat is a constant source of
intonation issues, so this setup is a real relief.
The three way switch is quiet and smooth. No noise issues with
the jack either. The pots are smooth and sure, with a really
wide roll off on tone. With the bridge pickup on and the tone
fully jacked, that classic brittle Tele squeal is omnipresent,
and a delight to my ears. Was grabbing some early Jeff Beck
Yardbird tones last night! 'Course i can only manage one or two.
       ;D
Really love those knobs. I put some identical to those on my
Strat last year and had wondered ever since what took me so long
to discover how much easier they are to manipulate.
I'm guessing the nut is graphite...Only a guess. No slippage at
all, and is in pristine condition.
The case was a genuine plus, hard shell cases are not cheap, and
while I don't gig, I'm very happy I have a nice safe place for
the guitar. Although I can't see it being cased up anytime soon!
       Too busy enjoying it!
I've never owned a really wide strap and this one is growing on
       me...... ;D
The guitar is only missing one thing....

A label.....I'm researching getting a custom "Danocaster, Made
In Michigan" decal for the peghead!

I'm probably right behind you. All I've had this morning is
coffee and a bowl of Cheerios.

How many more of your partscasters lack peghead decals?
       Asking for a friend...
