Back in '87 my fair town had an F4 go through several
residential neighbourhoods and an industrial neighbourhood or
two.
I was out of town gigging at the time. The tornado hit my
sister's neighbourhood. Had some tense moments when I couldn't
get a hold of her because the phones were out. She didn't even
know what was going on, and walked home from the bus stop
through some of it. Ignorance is bliss, I guess.
Don't wanna do that again...

24AUG07 one passed 1/4 mile south of my house---stood on the
deck and watched it---Fenton, the next town west, got tore up
pretty good---some homes on the south side of my park got
damaged---my chairs blew over on my deck, that's all

While at the moment, I am crouched under a condenser on roof,
waiting for a rainstorm to get finished, i’d Rather her be
herethan awaiting a tornado. :o

No serious weather here yesterday, other than a couple of
localized thunderstorms with some small hail.
Chez Dinkleburg emerged unscathed, except for a bit of rain.
I even managed to get my lawn cut.
I'll still be glad when severe weather season is over, though.
Around here that's usually the middle of August or so.
Hope you managed to stay dry, Joe. :)
