My Peanut has been gone 15 years last month. We loved her much
we never tried to replace her. She was a Aussie/Golden mix. I
still miss her greeting me at the door. She knew the sound of my
truck and would wait at the door for me with something.
Anything. A bone, a shoe. Gawd I miss that pup. We have a
parakeet that is pretty tame now and we adore it as well.
But damn I miss ol Petey. 🤮

I feel ya.
Melody was born into my hands---literally (the breeders are
close friends). I was with her every day until she was weaned,
then she came home to live with me. We had 11 1/2 years
together. Oh the stories---she was all I had for a long time, my
only family. Unreplaceable.
These days, because of where I live and my health, it's not
practical to have a dog in the family.
Oh, BTW---47o again at daybreak. THIS is summer ???

Petey was a rescue in way. She showed up in our yard when she
was just a pup, and we took her in. Ran lost dog ads and put up
posters, no response after a month, so we decided we, d take her
to the vet. So she became ours for 12 years. Took her on
vacations, she was just a member of the crew.
Thanks for rubbing the weather in Dan. I’ll reciprocate this
winter when it’s snowing and in the minuses up there and i’m
Shoveling the sunshine off my driveway in the 60’s. :))
