In the valley of the shadowless death
They pray for thunderclouds and rain
But to the multitudes who stand in the rain
Heaven is where the sun shines
The grass will be greener til the sun turns it brown
And thought will fly higher til the earth brings them down
Forever caught in desert sands, one has to learn to dis
believe
the sea

....I'd forgotten that one....The only Genesis album I own is
"Duke's Travels"...I would not have that one had it not been
given to me.
They were a creative band, even after Gabriel left.

"Trick" was the first release after Gabriel left and my
favorite.
I really wish I could send you some of the rain we've been
getting! Some rip-snortin' boomers came through
yesterday---didn't last long but was intense for a while. Hard
to keep up with the lawn mowing---grass growing like crazy,
ground too wet to mow. Same with weeding the bits I've planted
in the ground (doing a lot more container growing these days).
My roof-fed rainwater reservoirs are full, over 500
gallons---haven't used hardly any of that so far this year.
Probably be glad to have it in a month or so.
...and that reminds me: add some Mosquito DunksTM! Don't want to
provide habitat for the damned musteatyous.

My wife finally insisted I leave the mowing to others last
summer, after making the same request for ten years or more. I
finally relented last summer. Now a nice Hispanic fellow and his
crew do it for me every two weeks. Thing is, I always enjoyed
mowing, it was the trimming that killed me. Really bad on my
back. But the mowing, even in the heat of the day didn't bother
me. I'd take water breaks during the blazing hot months. But
that damned edging and weed eating just killed my back and
really wore me out.
$50 a month for lawn service ain't bad...

we have not had 3 days in a row without rain since ice-out (a
strictly northern phenomenon)
I'm starting to think in cubits!
