But---respectfully---to categorize Biden as "rational" is, to my
mind, a big stretch. I find him to be anything BUT rational. He
can't even speak coherently. He has no grasp of the facts of any
given topic he's speaking on. I see a puppet.

as an outsider looking in, it sounds like you're describing
trump here. biden seems pretty normal to me. i've seen he makes
the odd gaffe, like saying "million" when he clearly meant to
say "thousand", but i'd vote for him in a heartbeat if the only
alternative was trump. i don't think i've ever seen trump talk
for 5 minutes without saying something utterly nonsensical or
       bizarre.

Hmmm. This is becoming a bit too close to an argument, so I'm
       going to tread very lightly.
I don't dispute (and never have) that Trump is an insufferable
idiot. He has no moral compass and lies constantly.
But fer crine out loud---"the odd gaffe"? "Normal"? Every time
he opens his mouth, he misquotes or misrepresents, and finishing
a complete sentence seems to be beyond his ability unless he's
       reading prepared material. "It's like...you know...we just can't
have...the thing". And I won't even go into his creepy behavior
       with children, that's been well-documented.
Further, I have yet to hear anyone say anything they like about
Biden, except that he isn't Trump.
Ultimately, this whole conversation reinforces my basic issue
with the situation---we are faced with a choice between two
total trainwrecks of Presidential candidates. Our political
       system is in shambles.

Agree with all of this. We’re fairly fucked politically. Neither
of these men are up to the job.
Then again, there are no perfect men, much less perfect
       Presidents.
It would be pointless to argue each man’s (Biden and Trump’s)
qualities/failures, as we’d be here for days.
The political system in this country has always been fairly
fucked up though. A lot of the corruption and skullduggery used
to be better concealed via a press that operated under the old
       nod and wink system.
Not now. Can’t hide anything anymore. All the warts are in plain
sight. The inter webs have opened up everything and
misinformation rules the day. Factions fan the flames of
division electronically. Foreign actors plant lies in order to
sway opinions in favor of the candidates they feel will give
       succor to their interests.
Biden ain’t Trump. True statement Dan. For some folks, that’s
enough. For some that’s all they need to oppose him.
Our shit is all fucked up.

You've heard me say it before. My dream is to be able to acquire
a few acres out back of BFE. Small house, well-appointed pole
barn, garden space, greenhouse, maybe a chicken operation. Do as
much for ourselves as we reasonably can. Intentionally
confederate with neighbors for mutual benefit. Mind our own
fucking business and live FREE. Divorce ourselves from this sick
dysfunctional reality that is the dominant culture anymore.
I don't care to participate anymore. I'll be done soon
enough---I only hope to leave a legacy for my progenitors.

I appreciate your input and respect what you say.
Thing is, you seem to want to compare Biden to Trump as if I (or
anyone here) was alleging that Trump is superior to Biden. I
don't see that. Speaking only for myself, I believe they're both
       terrible choices, for different reasons.
I won't argue that Biden can read prepared material competently.
It's when he goes off-script that he becomes incoherent. He's a
puppet, hasn't got an original thought in his empty head, can't
       express himself at all.
I've heard Trump deliver prepared speeches competently also.
It's when he goes off-script that he shows what an arrogant
spoiled rich-kid with no principles that he really is.
       Two terrible candidates.
Imp, please don't feel like your observations are inappropriate
or unwelcome because you're not a US citizen. Outside
perspectives are of value, at least to me.

       i didn't mean to, but i lied when i said i wasn't going to
comment further, and i apologise for that. the revelations of
the last 24 hours are absolutely fucking mind-blowing to me. how
can a president owe >$400,000,000 to foreign investors (and
seemingly doesn't have anywhere near the resources to pay it
back), yet only pay $1500 in tax over a 15 year period? i feel
like i'm going insane. it's amazing to me that this isn't
grounds for instant disqualification for a presidential
candidate. it's surely a MASSIVE compromise of your national
security. is anyone seriously buying the "FAKE NEWS!"
       response?!?
