Gumbo

Had a great bowl of shrimp gumbo in Crosby, Texas today. A lot
of restaurants down here serve shrimp gumbo, visa vi our close
proximity to Louisiana. But it's really hard to find a bowl that
really stands out, has the pop, the right amount of peppery
heat, enough veggies and shrimp, the correct thickness of the
roux to really make for a party in your mouth. But Baytown
Seafood Company in Crosby hit it just right for me today.
Generous sized bowl of Gumbo, a nice house salad, great
service....A shade under $6, all told. Left a $4 tip. Put a bit
of sunshine in a gloomy day for me.
There's a lot of days when lunch is the only thing I have a
chance of breaking a smile at. Today was one of those days.

It's really just another name for a spicy stew when you get
right down to it.
