Mama D is still in the hospital

She looks more frail every time I go see her.
My own personal feeling is that she's gonna be there a while,
and she probably won't get to go back to the senior's residence
she has called home for the last two years or so.
2019 has a huge turd, so far. :(

One of the doctors suggested palliative care to Mama D
yesterday.
She is strongly considering this option.
Yesterday sucked. :'(

I think so.
Basically, they would stop trying to cure/rehabilitate her and
just try keep her as comfortable as they can until the end.
I told her I would support her decision, whatever she chooses.
Not the most pleasant conversation we've ever had, to be sure.
:(

That is hospice care then..My only surviving Aunt just entered
that phase as well. She's 92. Completely her decision. She was
diagnosed with late stage liver and kidney cancer, and decided
she didn't want to go through with treatment. Chances are any
results would be short lived at best anyway, given her age. Her
exact words were, "I've lived a long time, I'm tired and ready
to go." They'll give her however much relief from pain as she
wants. She's a great lady, and always been a strong one. I got
to spend a lot of quality time with her at Christmas. Her
spirits were high.
Sounds like your Ma is taking this phase on her own terms. You
gotta respect that. People get tired. I know how difficult this
is for all involved Dan. Keep your chin up Buddy.
