Update
Today makes it a week since she came home. She's healing,
getting some strength back. We go to the wound care place this
afternoon---maybe they'll remove the drain tube. Hope so. It's
hooked up to a pump/reservoir that she has to carry everywhere.
It has started to suck air as the incision heals (it's a large
nasty one), which sets off an alarm that keeps her from getting
good rest. They included some patching material for such
instances, and we used it, with less-than-good results. More of
a nuisance than a problem. The main thing is, she's getting
better, and that's what really matters.
Still no word from my cardiologist about my impending surgery.
No communication at all. No follow-up on my test from two weeks
ago. WTF.

Glad she's on the mend....But WTF? Is right! Fucking Doctors.

'Nother update.
Cinny is MUCH improved. The drain tube came out a while back.
Still have to go to the wound care clinic once a week---not
far---and home health care RNs come twice a week to deal with
her dressing. Even that should be less frequent soon. She might
go back to work as soon as Monday.
After SIX WEEKS of no word about my test results, I called the
cardiologist's office. Some RN called me back and said they
"discovered" that I have a bicuspid aortic valve. I have known
this since NOV2011 >:( She also told me that my aortic aneurysm
has increased in size. That's all she would say.
SO. Seeing the cardiologist in a few hours. He'd better have
some useful info for me or I'm gonna fire his ass. Trying not to
go into this with a bad attitude, but it's difficult.
If I'm going to grow food at all this year, my planting has to
be done in about a month. This is a VERY big priority for me,
and one that affects a large amount of my time and energy.
SOMEBODY tell me SOMETHING!!!

Seriously though,
I hope you had a good conversation with the cardio guy and you
now have a plan in place for your heart. Good news about the
Missus. Hope she continues to heal and feel better. :)

Shaving is an unnatural act. No argument on the bathing :(
Doc told me to expect a call from the U of M cardio clinic
"soon". Tried to tell me to collect up discs (recordings) of all
my tests---I told him that's what HE gets paid for. Sounds like
I may have to have another heart cath before they operate, but
they should be able to do that the day before the surgery, at
the U of M hospital.
"Within a few weeks" was as close as I could nail him down. I'll
be in the hospital for a week or less, then four to six weeks of
recovery at home.
Just in time to ruin planting ::)
But it's happening.
