Tis the cold snap from hell

With the exception of a couple of days, it has been in the - 15
to - 35C range for the past 6 weeks.
       Enough already!
       I surrender!

Damn Son....I don't know how you folks make it through those
temps for that period of time. Made of sturdy stuff to be sure.

It's just something you have to deal with, for the most part.
Doesn't mean we don't whine about it, though. It was - 35C in
       Dinkleville this morning.
Us northerners feel the same way about the heat that you folks
have to deal with. Not everyone has AC here, but we all have at
least double glazed windows and a good sized heating plant.

It is a special hell here from May to December....Last summer
was particularly brutal in terms of heat. Nice string of +100F
       days.
It's nice and in the 60's today. In a month it will all be a
memory. The Gulf will start belching humidity upon us.

I'm not sure which I would dislike more - arctic temps or
       extreme heat and humidity.
They both make life out of doors equally unpleasant, methinks.
The older I get, the more I bitch and whine about the weather,
       it seems. ;D

That's what old guys like us do. Bitch about things.
I do think it is a bit easier to cool down than it is to warm
up. When you're working on hot equipment in the summer heat, you
can find some shade and a breeze and even 90 can feel alright.
The most important thing is to drink lots of water in the heat.
I think the sub zero temps you have to endure are impossible to
escape unless you have shelter and something to warm the area.
Eskimos...WTF? They obviously migrated across the land bridge
that was across the Aleuts...Why the fuck did they just stop
       there?
Which idiot among them said, "Ah hell, let's just live here on
this fucking ice. Seals and whale blubber ain't that bad of a
       diet."

we're having the hottest February days since start of the
measurement, today (Feb 25) broke the record of 1964, it's
16.5°C over here and women are scantily clad, February 15 we
       even had 18.1°C
       :D
looks like we're going to get to 20°C later this week
       ::)

Enjoy the nice weather while you got it, bieke.
Weather is a fickle thing, at best.
       Still cold as crap here.
Some long term forecasts are calling for another month of these
       temps. >:( >:( >:(

Gonna go all Deepends/Isaac on you here.
The land bridge across the Bering Sea was not part of the
Aleutian Islands. It was well north of there.
       Okay, I'm done with that.
Personally, excessive heat is much worse for me than cold. I do
not like to be cold, but I tolerate it better than overheating.
If I get too hot I go into afib and could easily stroke out.

Hey I don't mind being corrected if I've made a mistake. I just
don't like being made to feel small in the process, which is
what both those guys have done to me before. You did not. Thanks
for pointing out the mistake and correcting it. I was just
alluding to the fact that I found it really odd that the Eskimos
forebears would consider that part of the earth, which at THAT
time, was even colder than it is now, a good place to settle.
Perhaps those that went before them were some badasses they
didn't want to mess with, and just figured, hey we're good here.
