Seen this vid several times. jimi played with a lot of different
people before he went out on his own. I think Little Richard
fired him because he was out flashing him.

I should have known that clip with Hendrix had been circulated.
This clip is John and Yoko and their band playing Jerry Lewis'
1972 telethon. Around 8:50 they begin a rocking version of Give
       Peace A Chance.

Barbara Lynn on a show named "The !!!! Beat". Reading on
Wikipedia, they took the show from Nashville to Dallas to take
advantage of the color TV filming facility there. The !!!! Beat
was a syndicated show that filmed 26 episodes.

       Some amazing finds gentlemen!
One of the things I find really fun is trying to determine the
       equipment being used.
Bieke, in Dave's vid of Barbara, that could be a Broadcaster or
an Esquire, but I can't tell which. She had a GREAT voice, and a
lot of panache to her rhythm playing. Every now and then I can
pick out that Tele-like spank, but there were two other guitar
       players so...
Great find Dave. I can't say I'd heard of her previous to now.
While there were certainly a lot of black women fronting bands
in that era, can't think of too many playing guitars.
"Fanny"...Well I remember hearing that name mentioned back in
the day, but couldn't recall any of their music. It was all
fresh to my ears. Really good stuff too. The guitar and bass
players were sisters apparently. Moved to the states from the
Philippines. They've got an interesting Wiki if you're curious.
I dug their sound. The guitar player had really cool tone.
Looked like she was playing through a Fender Silverface Concert
or Deluxe Reverb. Not big enough to be a Twin, too small for a
Princeton. There was another box in back of her but I think that
might was being used as a monitor.
The Bass player looked like she was playing through an Acoustic
amp. Unsure of the others. I do know the guitarist was playing a
335 and a Les Paul Jr. when she switched to slide. The bass was
obviously a Precision. Keyboard, some piano, acoustic and miked
       I guess, and a trusty B-3 organ.
Not sure why Fanny didn't blow up bigger, unless it was the Male
dominance of rock thing at the time. June was named as the most
important female guitarist at some point by Guitar Player.
Apparently, the biggest hit they had hit #23 at Billboard. Not
bad! I really dug the earthy tone their songs had, and a nice
version of "Hey Bulldog" to boot. June really dug in deep
playing, was really into it. You can tell they didn't give a
fuck about glamor bullshit, they came to play.
       Good work Gents!

Barbara Lynn plays an Esquire in that video, she is using a
thumbpick, her Esquire did not have a toggle switch
and June Millington had several guitars, the 335 is modded by
Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, I cannot find what mods were done, but that
335 has 3 additional potmeters and an extra toggle

The video posted of Fanny seems to have been removed by the
owner. I searched YouTube and found the band, and sure enough
they were excellent. Considering the times back then, maybe
they'd have been bigger if they'd been males (?).
And this triggered a memory. There was a female rock band
profiled on (IIRC) CBS This Morning a while back. I think they
were active in the San Francisco scene back in the late 60's.
Never got a record contract back then, but they reformed
recently and released an album. I don't remember their band
       name.

the Fanny video is still on YouTube, it's just not allowed to
       embed it elsewhere
it's a 36 minute long non stop music, with a 5 minute break
around 14.20 mark, I thought it was cool they left this in
also, they stopped a couple of songs and start over again
anyway San Fransico 60 all female band, does not ring a bell
can't be the Shaggs I lubs me some Shags, guilty pleasure, I
won't post a video but if you haven't heard of them, you may
want to keep it that way
       ;D

I searched and actually found the story. They were called the
Ace of Cups. They're back together - in their 70's.
Unfortunately some of their voices show their age, probably from
many years unused for singing - our voices are muscles that must
be kept toned - for singing anyway.

Well....it appears my link is blocked by requiring a login. If
interested in the story, search Google: CBS This Morning Ace of
Cups ..... and you should be able to watch it.
