Tonight I'm gonna make spaghetti. Nuthin' fancy. Throw a bit of
olive oil in the pot. Heat the oil, throw some chopped onion in
the oil, just to soften it. Then add some ground italian
sausage, and brown it. Then add some stewed tomatoes. Then add a
bottle of Garden combination Ragu. Let that simmer a half an
hour. Then heat some water and throw in the Vermicelli. Serve
with some warm garlic bread and small salads.

Tonight, it's homemade vegetable soup. I start off browning some
stew meat and garlic. Add 2 cans of stewed tomatoes, peeled and
chunk up some Yukon Gold potatoes. Chop up a half a yellow
onion. Slice up 2 crookneck squash. Snapped maybe a pound of
green beans.Add some kidney beans I soaked overnight. A quarter
head of cabbage goes in. Chopped some mustard greens very
finely. Add 4 carrots I sliced up. Added enough vegetable stock
to cover all the goods. Seasoned with Kosher salt and fresh
ground pepper. Dash of paprika, added some cilantro...Brought it
all to a boil, then cut the heat down to simmer. Did that right
before coming upstairs to the bunker. I'll let it simmer a
couple of hours, check it every now and then.
Later, I'll be getting a big ol bowl and a slice or two of
french bread and will be a happy Texican.

That soup was the fucking bomb. Wish I could send you all a bowl
of it. Outdid myself. Was even better heated up this afternoon.
