Bizarre Phil Spector song - "He Hit Me"

In view of evolving standards of behavior this song is bizarre.
I've been working on "The Locomotion" by Carol King and Gerry
Goffin. So I was reading about Little Eva and there was
something about her boyfriend beating her, and she believed it
meant he loved her. So Goffin and King wrote a song. Phil
Spector produced the Crystals.
It just seems like something from the Twilight Zone.

WTF? Was the first thing I thought. Can you imagine the uproar
if that was released today?
I'm not sure if I'm repeating myself or not, but I thought I
started a thread about songs that wouldn't pass social
acceptance standards of today.
Like The Beatles "Run for your life". The Stones "Under My
Thumb", which is all about completely dominating a female. We
could probably start documenting tunes like those and have
enough material for a book.
Dave...You have discovered the other boards I created haven't
you?
The Keyboard category awaits your input...
