Amps...The ones I got

Another unimpressive line up.
1971 Fender Super Reverb. this was my main amp for 40 years. I
bought it, and still have the sales receipt stating it was a
1967. years later, I ran the serial numbers, and discovered it
was 1971...Head....Still indeterminate as to the age of the
cabinet. It was always an amp that sounded it's best when it was
running hot and at about 8 or 9 on the volume. So...It hasn't
seen any work in eons...Still here though.
2010 Roland Cube 15. I bought this amp just because I had a
nephew who wanted to learn guitar, and it was easy to lug over
to his house. Doesn't have reverb, but it has built in
distortion modes and a power soak feature. It's really a pretty
good little amp and is loud as shit.
2018 Line 6 Spider V30. A modeling amp. Helluva learning curve
as far as finding out how to modify tones and stuff...Versatile
as hell...And I never thought 30 watts could be so loud. Has a
8" speaker and a little horn. I usually just put on the cans and
plug in. The USB goes into the computer and I use the software
to change settings and tweak them. It's a blast really. Haven't
recorded anything with it as of yet.
Mikeo at HC said it was a "Toy" amp. Maybe it is...I dunno...I
dig it.
I had a Marshall JCM 50 watt combo...I dug the high gain side of
it. But the clean side of it was pretty sucky in my book.Had no
heart. I ended up using both it and the Super. and A/B ing them
when I was still with a band. Helluva a lot of weight to haul
around....Then I left the band. Decided I could get pretty close
to the Marshall with the Fender and pedals, so bye,bye Marshall.
Don't miss it. Sold it on eBay to some kat in NY that just loved
it and got back what I paid for it.
When I was a kid...The first amp I owned was an Airline. That's
right. if you can remember Montgomery Ward's. it was their store
brand. A screaming 8 watts. Perfect match for my first electric
guitar, which was a Shinko. Bought at T,G&Y. I bought it because
it was $50...I had $50...and knew jack about guitars. I taught
myself how to play electric guitar on it. Badly....
