They get weirder and worse after that one, trust me. Don't feel
obligated to listen to any of my crap. That's all it is.

crappy? i was diggin’ on twilight... i hear gongs in that
one. you do a cool riff in letter, reminds a bit of zappa,
walking on air has an interesting effect on vocals, may be the
layers? this makes me want to set up my drums.

First. thanks for the feedback.
"Twilight", is actually the first thing I ever recorded that I
made up myself. The drums I recorded, literally off a record
called "Drum Drops". The record had I think 12 different tracks,
just drums, in different formats..roughly 3 minutes a piece. I
think that one was "Rock Ballad". Recorded the drums on to my
RTR. Then used the Sound on Sound feature to record the simple
chord progression on guitar. Then bounced that over to a two
track cassette. Then played that back and recorded the bass
track at the same time with it to the RTR. Then I went live
again, back to the cassette deck and added the lead parts,
dancing back and forth on a Mutron II phaser. no gongs were used
or harmed in the recording to the best of my knowledge.
All of it going through my old Super Reverb...Using not the
10's, but a 8 speaker off a cheap stereo. miked up.
"Walking on Air" was a bit more complex. By then I had a four
track cassette, a Synth, a drum machine(Albeit a cheapie), a
mixing board, some outboard gear. I forget how many different
vocal tracks I had on there, but there was some chorusing
involved. The guitar was one glorious pass. ::). I've always
wished I'd recorded the bass, on my bass, instead of the synth.
The song is about weed.
"Letter"...that was a weird one, even for me. I think the drum
track was on a Roland Drumatix. I came up with that drum track
and thought.."Why don't i just try to write a song around that?"
No synths involved on that one.
Zappa has been a major influence on me. That influence may have
bled into that one, but it wasn't intentional.
Thanks so much for listening Jamie...I get listeners on
Soundcloud, but I don't really know any of them.
Maybe we can attempt a collaboration on something someday!

i certainly hope so! im in process of a yoo toob channel
providing a daily sound meditation. im pretty damned
technotarded but maybe i can figure it out. im working on a
permanent structure for keeping my gongs set up when im not
traveling... large enough to record spinning gongs so easily
accommodate recording live bands or personal musical projects.
but in two weeks im headed to kentucky to play what im told is
the most family oriented, meditative type festival running. the
trailer is loaded, it takes ten minutes to throw the dome and
bicycles into the back of the truck... load the coolers, hitch
up the wagon and head out the gate.
