Hats off, Kudos, High Fives, and Regrets
By: AJ Date: July 10, 2017, 12:53 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Hats off, Kudos, and High Fives....
To Mark Longworth and to Nick Firth.
Had Mark never started "The Bar"...I'd have never gotten to know
Evil Imp, Bieke, Dinkleberg, Indigo Dave, or Luke 17.
Had Evil Imp not launched "Brain Vomit", I'd have never had the
chance to reach out to Bucky and bring him into the circle and
bring his talent into the "Vomiteers". In fact, if there had
been no "Brain Vomit"...There would have been no "Vomiteers".
While my contributions to the output of that band were
minimal...I treasure the memories, and feel grateful I was a
small part of it, and the small community of contributors and
supporters involved.
For all of that...I owe Mark and Nick a helluva a lot. Also,
everybody mentioned here a High Five, a Hats off, and a Kudo, in
addition to a helluva a lot. Also my sincere thanks to all that
come here and post. Not sure if any of you understand how very
much your fellowship means to me. Thought I ought to state that.
I hope that Dinkleberg will resurface. I hope that Evil Imp will
come by as well. Would be nice if MarkL would drop in. I'm sure
all would be cool with a appearance of the etheral, spriritual
Jamie. But I feel I should leave that to fate somehow. I've
reached out to all these folks with a single e-mail invitation.
I'm no salesman, nor do I wish to be. The small community we
have here is a quality community...I like it to grow to keep
everybody here happily engaged however. To keep you guys from
getting bored with the joint.
I have noticed in the past however, that recruitment efforts on
the part of Mark and Nick bore little to no fruit. Hence I've
decided against any efforts in that regard. If that makes me a
Bad Admin, so be it. I'd rather have good friends than none. As
long as you folks are happy with this little shack...I'm good.
And I will always be grateful to Evil Imp especially. I miss you
Nick, you goofy English Nutter.

I loved Brain Vomit, though I never felt at home as a Vomiteer.
My contributions didn't feel necessary save for "Clair."

I respectfully disagree with the latter part of your statement.

I missed "The Bar". When I came into the fold the forum de jour
was "The Asylum". I think it was abruptly shut down for some
unknown (to me anyway) reason. I went over to "Brain Vomit" and
left when "The Basement" opened up.
This reminds me of how churches splinter off over disagreements.
Unfortunately there aren't a lot of us to splinter.

I honestly think if this one crashes and burns I'll just bail on
forums period.

Yep. I've ran four or five different boards.

I did with the Glen Campbell forum.

Before then, it was an R.E.M. board, two different versions of
the Pee Forum, and a Bobby Goldsboro forum (as a joke).
