Election

..Well we hadda anuzzer one. Two years of gridlock almost
guaranteed. Not sure that's a bad thing.
Several more states became weed friendly. That's a good thing.
Shame Texas wasn't one.
I think Fat 'Ol Trump is going to be getting a pretty good
shakedown from The House. That's a good thing.
Jeff Sessions is looking for work.
Mueller is in the crosshairs now. That's a bad thing.
That s all.

Florida now has a Republican Gov and Senator. Let's bring more
red tide to our Florida beaches, right ?. After all who wants to
spend money with protections for our environmental issues. But
I think one of our huge systemic problems needs to be addressed
with a state amendment regarding gerrymandering. Gerrymandering
makes a joke of democracy. It's not the only problem, but a
state amendment passed in Colorado and Michigan regarding this
problem.
I also believe the Electoral College distortions should be
corrected. We've all heard about Hillary getting something like
3 million more votes than Donald. But I heard someone (a
pundit) that it would be possible for someone to get 8 million
more votes and still lose the presidency. What's wrong with
this picture ?

I hear ya. Texas is one of the most gerrymandered states in the
disunion. Remarkably, Harris County, in which I live, literally
flipped blue as far as Judgeships are concerned. Every single
Republican Judge got turned out. A couple of republican
congressional districts got flipped as well, putting some long
time Republican congressmen out.
State offices remain Red however.
Hopefully the Dem House won't waste this opportunity on foolish
impeachment efforts, and instead spend the capital where it
will do the most good....
Investigate the shit out of Trump and his Red Minions.

I worry sometimes about the inflammatory rhetoric. On a micro
level, I happened to be throwing dried corn (for squirrels) in
my front yard when my next door neighbor came home around 4 pm
yesterday. He has a 3 wheeled Polaris Slingsot which he uses on
weekends to go for his social things. I'm pretty sure he had
been at a nearby sports bar to watch the UF football game. He
likes to engage in chiding/sparing behavior, his way of joking
around. I think he'd had a least half a snoot full - but wasn't
staggering drunk. Well, after his normal BS, he quickly shifted
to democrats trying to steal the Fla election. He quickly
became enraged, especially when I brought up Fox News and Trump
stirring problems.
On a macro level, I think the aspirational right wing crowd is
encouraged. I recently saw a headline quoting David Dukes as
saying his crowd played a role in Trump's election.
People are being played by the opinion pundits on Fox News prime
time. Immediately after the election last Tuesday, the dreaded
"invasion" by the Central Americans bringing small pox and
mid-east terrorists (NOT !) was reportedly not so much of a
problem anymore.

I worry ALL the time about the inflammatory rhetoric. The Right
seems the easiest to inflame, but the Left have their moments of
indignant caterwauling as well.
The battlelines are already being drawn. Rep. Elijah Cummings
was already singling out issues with The Prez he thinks merit
Congressional Investigation this morning. Trump is already
moving into defense mode. His temp AG appointment is the opening
shot. Mueller better wrap up soon or he's gonna get the boot.
