Roland builds good gear. I've got a Cube 15. Nice for what it
is. But the JC's are legendary.
Congrats on the score!

My little Cube 15 has a tube preamp, though not a particularly
robust one. It also has a bunch of overdrive and distortion
modes built into it, but no reverb. The clean tones are pretty
danged dry though. It really is just a practice amp. The only
reason I bought it was a young nephew of mine was interested in
playing guitar. My Brother bought him a 3/4 size Strat copy and
I bought the Cube to take over there to teach him some stuff.
The Super Reverb was just too fucking heavy for that shit.
The Line 6 I just got would be perfect for that type of mission.
The Nephew has since grown up and is off in the Marine Corps
now.
I'm going to take some time this weekend for ME, for a change,
and give the Line 6 some quality time with me.

yeah, the little rolands do pretty well... im using mine as a
portable system for micing my futujara and fujara... put it on
my back in an ultralight pack frame and its off to the races!
the ex has a decent echo and reverb which works great for the
flutes... added a baggs preamp, and a digital echo... everything
battery.. runs all night and more.
