i was sent to wally world last night for dog food... first,
ive been on the farm without public interaction for a couple of
weeks and at this point i dont care to be around people at
all... i got animal food and lots of fruit... tangerines,
bananas , apples, grapes... the cashier grabs the first bunch
of bananas and slams them on the scales, proceeds to drop them
about a foot onto the bagging area then a third time threw them
on top of the “bagged” grocery area... it was late.. she was
having a bad day... tough shit, youre fucking with my kids
food. i asked her politely if she wouldnt mind taking it easy
on the bananas she said, “sure” and started the same with the
next bunch... i stopped her and said” look, if you want mushy
bruised mush thats your business, take it easy on the fruit.”.
she didnt understand... so immediately after checking out i
found the manager and told heri dont normally say anything...
but im tired of incompetent employees treating me like a fool
and indeed if i am a fool its for spending one damn penny in a
place that cares so little about taking care of the customer...
“. i was told she would be dealt with. i told them not to
bother, i can find my way to another place to shop.

I'm in agreement on the treatment of bananas. I've sometimes
grabbed them after they have been scanned to keep them from
being placed someplace other than the top of the bag. Bananas
should be part of bagging training on day 1.
BTW, I have refrigerated my bananas for at least 25 years now.
Extends their useful life.

with two lemurs, three children and two adults, plus the
occasional deer... bananas dont last long enough to make it to
the fridge...the lemurs and deer account for a minimum of 6 then
a couple for treats for macaws and cockatoos... my mom
freezes them and swears it makes better banana bread.

I'm a one-a-day man. Generally one banana per day. I'm very
routine and regimented in my diet. I buy broccoli (had to look
this word up to spell it) florets at Publix (grocery store) and
put them in a Rubbermaid box. I eat out of boxes. It ain't
purty !
Anyway I mostly try to follow a plant based diet. I do go to
Chipotle (Mexican Grill - a chain) and get a burrito bowl with
chicken. I buy one and eat half, then the other half the next
day. And we have a falafel shop near me. I ate there today.
Also, I've decided that if I'm going to pay 1 1/2 to 2 bucks to
drink iced tea, I want them to have it in an urn - with no
pre-melted ice. I will no longer pay for melted iced tea.
"High Noon" is on TV right now. I recall something about black
listing and theories that it was subversive. Or something. Guess
I'll need to google it. I just printed out the lyrics to the
"High Noon" theme song. My perform it for my old folks.
I've had a little special flower. I'm giving away all my
secrets.

The screenwriter for "High Noon" was caught up in Joe McCarthy's
Commie Witch hunt. The script was allegory for what was
happening at the time.
Just in case you haven't Googled it yet.
It's a great movie. Cooper had to be coaxed into doing it, but
it's one of his finest hours.

Agreed, great movie. It was followed by "Stars In My Crown" by
Joel McCrea from 1950. Excellent movie also. Had some racial
justice issues. Interesting pairing. I interrupted the movie
to take a walk. Went out too far and the last 20 minutes were
walking in heavy rain. With thunder. What can you do ? I
misjudged the cloudy skies.

Welcome to Florida?
The last time I was there...(Disney/Universal with the Lad)...It
rained at 5:30 every day I was there. And no Presbyterian rain
either, but a genuine Baptist downpour. It was over in 30
minutes. But it was like clockwork. Gave a lot of the parents in
the parks a reason to pack up the kiddos and head back to the
Hotel because the lines for the rides evaporated. We stuck it
out everyday, from opening to closing at both the parks.
Didn't take my little buddy but about 5 minutes to crash out
after a shower each night. Good memories.
