in the middle of remodeling the old farmhouse...

new roof, shiny as a new dime... gutted the hallway, four
rooms and started on the bathrooms and just now got a call from
child services... it seems my grand daughter, whom i havent
seen in a year and a half, needs a stable home...

Give her what she needs Dudley....The "Lad" I speak of so fondly
and often is actually my Great Nephew that entered my home at
age one week. His mother was a wreck that went on to have 3 more
kids by 3 more men before she offed herself. We went through a
lot of pain and bankrupted ourselves in courtrooms to keep him
safe and I don't regret it one bit. The love we gave and give
him he returns likewise.
Go get her G Pa...Get her, keep her safe and love her...It's the
gift that keeps on giving!

cs shows up... the dude plays music, has a beard almost exactly
like mine, and lves old hippies that run animal rescues that
aren’t actually animal hoarders... we are on our way right
this minute to pick her up... life changes in the blink of an
eye.

You both have my respect and admiration in taking on this
responsibility.
This is one of my chronic peeves. Anyone can fuck and
impregnate or get pregnant. Parenting is a huge job. I believe
that everyone who has a child should be required to take a
couple of courses in child development, child psychology etc.
I heard this suggested by none other than Anthony Newly (he
co-wrote the song "Goldfinger" in addition to a bunch of other
stuff) maybe 45 years ago. The religious superstitionists
would disagree with me. They don't believe in science and other
evidence based systems.
I was watching a talk by Terrence McKenna about "asking
psilocybin" a question recently. In this case: how can we save
the world ? Interestingly he said that if everyone had just one
(1) natural child we could reduce the population to sustainable
levels in X (can't remember the number) years. I'd say we need
to start thinking out of our box(es).

two and a half human earth years... she is much more verbal
than people thought, she is just extremely soft spoken...
actually quite articulate and precise in pronunciation. she says
it once, on her terms and if you miss it... sorry about your
luck, pay attention next time...
