Have you a favourite set of headphones?

Last week I bought a pair of Sennheiser SD280's to
replace/upgrade my $60 Sony headphones I have had for years. I
think I am going to return them, however. :(
They seem awfully bass heavy for me, with a bit of a frequency
bump in the low mids, which makes them unpleasant sounding to my
ears when I get close to the mic. They also feel like a "C"
clamp on my head, and the heavy, coiled cord drags the left side
of my head down. That's what it feels like, anyway. :P
I spent about an hour with them yesterday, and I finally went
back to my old Sony's.
Anybody got a less than $200 pair of headphones that they like?
I'd be using them for recording/rehearsing and not so much for
mixing.

I bought a pair of AKG K240's a couple of years ago and I've
been real happy with them...I don't remember what I paid for
them though. They are open back style, very light on the noggin
and seem to have pretty good all around frequency response. Not
that my ears are good judges of these things...I've significant
hearing loss in the upper registers. :(

Thanks, AJ. I'll be sure to check them out if the local music
store happens to have them in stock.
