Re: ok...It's pretty danged miserable here

I listen to NPR everyday on the radio in my truck. On my commute
in I get close to a full hour (or more if there's a wreck), and
I listen to it until the local Pacifica station starts it's
music programming. With one exception, the people I work with
think NPR is a liberal station. It is not. It's untainted,
unbiased news reporting to my ears and mind. I'm unapologetic
about it to them. Also, along with that one exception, I'm the
only one who isn't a Trumpist. I think they are intimidated by
that for some reason.
I don't watch Fox news. Period. I don't watch MSNBC either. I
think they are polar opposites politically but essentially have
the same approach.
I do watch CNN. But no particular programs on it. If there is
some shit going on I'll watch and while I think there are some
people on there with political axes to grind, I believe that
when it comes down to basically reporting the News they do a
professional job. The political opinion shows, on ALL the
networks, get on my nerves after a bit.
PBS seems to be the broadcast with the very least amount of
political bent to it.
Frontline is maybe the very best program to watch if you want a
fact based, unbiased presentation of a particular story. It
really does leave judgement of the facts to the viewer, simply
laying out the truth, unvarnished, from however many sides there
are to the subject matter.... so the viewer has what they need
to form a opinion.
One has to do a lot of their own leg work to get the facts on
anything these days.
I also liked and respect Ted Koppell. I still watch 60 minutes
fairly regularly...
Roger Ailes and Bill O'Reilly were maybe the first rocks to
tumble down the mountain in this landslide comin' down the
Hillside of sexual predators. I'm still waiting for the other
shoes to drop on many others, including Our Dear Leader.....Of
course, it's to be expected that a lot of lesser offenders will
be stuck to this giant mudclod rolling downhill, and perhaps
some will be unjustly accused for financial gain along the way.
Social Restructuring? Perhaps....
