This country home we moved to about a year ago has a huge garden
area. 60' x120', and we had a bumper crop of tomatoes,
potatoes, peas and beans. It will be even better next year as
were thinking about adding a year round green house to get our
plants started. Here is a pic of the garden and some
       multi-colored carrots.

       The Carrot...AND the Stick? ;D
The Lad and I are putting up his Greenhouse over the next few
       days...Will post pics when it's erected....He already has a
starter pod in his bedroom. Never saw anybody as fascinated with
plants as he is. At least no one as fascinated with plants that
       one would not smoke... ;D

it can all be applied to those plants that can be smoked,
ingested or otherwise enjoyed... for any reason. sustenance,
pleasure, medicine, clothing, plastics, fuels, lubricants, (
both social and mechanical) building materials for shelter...
the list of plant importance goes on. i too was, and still am,
fascinated by the plant word and all its mystery. ( all i need
for food is air, and sunlight... ) botany, horticulture,
greenhouse management and design, mycology, and lately, food
       forests, permaculture and agro-engineering... permaculture
gardening is where its at, baby... less work, more food...
food, shelter, musical instruments for entertainment, clothing
and party favors... plants deserve our love and respect.
even to the very air we breathe... pat that lad on the back,
give him all the encouragement he requires but im guessing he is
self starting on this? lol... with me, its part of my...
um... affliction. i overthink everything, dissect each
possibility and then rethink the process to make sure... as an
example when i first ate psilocybin mushrooms, i had already
studied them, from siberia to tropical climes we as humans have
enjoyed the benefits of these for millennia. they have changed
entire civilizations, and are revered in too many cultures for
me to address here... understand that i knew the history and
the medical theories about the mechanics of the compounds... hw
they interact physically and psychologically in the human host,
long before i ever considered putting them into my body.

He is self starting to be sure...But we've always encouraged him
in every thing he's done. Always backed him 100%.
His interest was microbiology when he first started college, but
working part time at Home Depot...In the garden department was
what spurred him in the direction he currently has his sails set
towards. Plant life fascinates him. Just the incredible variety
and diversity of all the different phylum's of plants that
inhabit this planet is mind boggling even to a rube such as I.
He has populated our home with a vast array of plants, most of
which I could not identify, but he could talk for hours about.
He has a seed starter in his room that he carefully controls the
amount and timing of lighting on. It's become quite practical in
one respect....fresh basil that i love cooking fish with. The
Lad is a wonder to me....

Unfortunately, life's circumstances and the big D kinda took the
fun out of the garden last summer. :( I did put in a garden, but
it was smaller than in previous years. I still had more tomatoes
and beans and carrots than I knew what to do with, however. My
neighbours all love me in the summertime what with all the free,
       fresh veggies. :P
My plum tree went nuts last summer, producing so much fruit I
was forced to brace up most of the branches to prevent them from
       breaking. I spent close to a $100 on 1x4's and whatnot. :D

Well, that is the season when they're in the highest demand.
       So I've heard, anyway. ;)
