It actually hurts to go outdoors right now

I just went out to the garage to plug in the van for tomorrow
morning.
When you stand in the wind it starts to hurt about 10 seconds
later. >:(
Yay winter! ;D

Dayum Fellas!
Dinks, you and Belleswell need to be extra careful huh?
It is Muthalovin' COLD up there in the Great White North!
it's supposed to get down to close to 30 here New Years
Day....Guess that sounds downright tropical to y'all though....
It don't get real cold real often down here on the Third
Coast....But then Y'all ain;t got no worries with Hurricanes
either.

I'd much rather deal with winter than hurricane season,
methinks. This may be because I'm familiar with cold and not
hurricanes. The devil you know and whatnot... ;D
That being said, it's been nasty cold for over a week now, and I
can safely say I've had my fill. Going a bit stir crazy at the
moment. It's supposed to warm up tomorrow - finally.
The windchill was -38C this morning. I'd translate that to US
for you guys, but -40C and -40F are the same temperature. Can't
wait to go for a walk tomorrow afternoon. I hope the weather
guys are right, but you never know. Back in the 70's when Papa D
was going for his pilot's license, his instructor referred to
the meteorologists as "the science fiction boys." ;D

I suppose it's like anything. It's not so bad if you're prepared
for it.
Same thing goes for heat and humidity, I would think. You guys
in Texas have big-assed cooling plants and us guys in Alberta
have big-assed heating plants. ;D

The weather seems to be hitting the extremes more often. And
I've heard things on NPR about once in 500 year floods now
happening maybe 20-30 years apart - or similar. We may be
wearing something akin to space suits to survive the cold/heat
before it's over.

true. And my summer electricity bills reflect the temps in
scorching. My heating system is natural gas which is fairly
cheap down here.
