       Do you view people that use computers, samplers, turntables
       onstage as real, performing musicians?
       I do. For the simple reason that they are using alternate
       conduits to achieve a musical connection with others.
       But I want to know your perspective on it.

       If they're making music, then yes. That's what a musician does.

       i was pretty closed minded about this kinda stuff until i saw my
       eldest son dj'ing...  taking live sound bites from the audience
       and flipping and texturing them into parts of the music he was
       mixing/morphing...   using parts of tunes for beats...  using
       sounds from everyday stuff as pitches and rhythms...  crazy...
       art...  music...
