       Keyboards

While I am mostly a would-be picker...I have dabbled in and on
keyboards a bit over the years. Never reached even a pedestrian
level of proficiency with them however.
Let me take you on a tour of the ones I had in the past
       nevertheless..
  HTML http://thebasement.createaforum.com/gallery/thebasement/thumb_1-250617202929.jpeg
Casio PT-1..My first foray into keyboards.Had a janky little
       rhythm section...Tiny keys...Crappy sounds. Think I did a demo
       on it.
  HTML http://thebasement.createaforum.com/gallery/thebasement/thumb_1-200617203730.jpeg
Roland Juno 6..My first real investment in a keyboard. A
Monophonic synthesizer. No preset sounds, you literally had to
make them up yourself using the oscillators, filters, LFO's etc.
Then save the data to an outboard cassette tape, and reload
them. I had a blast with it and recorded a lot of junk with it.

Roland Juno 106. A polyphonic synthesizer with 6 voices, 106
user defined presets, arpeggio, , built in choruses. Had major
fun with it.Did a lot of recording with this one.
I also invested in expanders for the keyboards
  HTML http://thebasement.createaforum.com/gallery/thebasement/thumb_1-200617203824.jpeg
Midi Bass. Literally a sampler of bass guitar sounds, triggered
via the midi keyboards in the Juno's. It had samples of actual
plucked and slapped bass notes. The big draw back was it only
housed four samples at a time and they were literally separate
chips inside the box. And pricey. I used it a bit but only
bought one extra chip as they like $80 a pop
       .
  HTML http://thebasement.createaforum.com/gallery/thebasement/thumb_1-250617204342.jpeg
Yamaha FB-01. An expander module that came loaded with 256 PCM
sounds, with space for 256 user defined sounds as well. It was a
bitch making new sounds for it though as it all had to done
using parameters punched in from the front panel. Out of the 256
presets, there were about 20 I liked. I did manage to tweak a
drum sound and came up with a pretty fair marimba patch, which
can be heard in "Big Freeze".

Now all I have is this...A Akai Mini MK controller keyboard. No
onboard sounds, works strictly through a USB cable and utilizes
the 100 or so patches that came with Rapture Studio in Sonar, my
DAW. It does have velocity sensitive keys and pads, and have had
fun playing drums with the pads. No recording yet..
So...That's it fellas...Mt life in keyboards lain bare.
Everything on my Soundcloud page, wherever you hear
keyboards...It was one or more of these employed.
Maybe next I'll put together a tour of the Drum machines I've
       had...

please disregard pic of gnome..my wife loathes that little
gnome..she says'his face has the smirk of a deviant'
so..just before she went out to grill our ribeyes last week, I
went out and stuck this carrot between the cement perverts
       legs...
       She was not amused.. :)
anyway the rabbits/squirrels made short work of his protuberance
       during the night..

       them.

Do you not see an icon for "Gallery" in your tool bar?? It's
kind of weird. You already have a gallery slot, but no pics in
it. First you have to name your gallery, then tell it where you
want to put the pics in case you want multiple galleries. I'm
just putting all mine in the same gallery. The same rules as far
as size is concerned as with pics you paste into your post. Max
       is 2500x2500 pixels.
Lemme know if I can be any more help...If we can meet in chat,
then open a separate window with the Board in it we can live
       jive our way through it.

AJ, I'm not able to enlarge your pictures. I had a couple of
Casio keyboards way way back. I may have had the same on in
your picture. A portable personal keyboard with speakers was
huge to me at the time.

I had a couple of synthesizers. Never learned to manipulate all
the parameters (envelope and all that stuff). Ended up a
       confirmed piano player.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy this one before my next
vacation. A traveling piano, of sorts.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to post pictures
       bigger than thumbnails.

I assume you're taking the pictures with your phone. If so, it
seems that there's usually a setting that needs to be changed.
That's the extent of my knowledge.
