Anderton isn’t even with Gibson anymore. Man, what does that
mean for HC? He was the good guy there. He even took the time to
listen to my music, and so many others, and gave me praise!

I don't know much about Presonus Studio One, but have read it's
somewhat intuitive. And that it has drag and drop features.
One person called Pro Tools First crippleware. I just despise
it when they play the "gotcha" game. Not Pro Tools specifically,
       just any company in general.

That rule pretty much applies to most "Entry Level" software.
       [/quote]
And I get that. But my impression has been that the upgraded
versions of DAWs allow 128 track recording or something like
that. I don't forsee using a half a bizillion effects plugins,
no artificial drums, MIDI instruments etc. I do want to do
something BitchesBrew-ambient inspired. But my impression is
that most of the HC guys want to replicate a "band" - with bass
and drums. I say "why" ? Who says it has to recreate a rock &
roll band if there's not one there ?
I'm used to being an outlier much of my life. I was bullied
circa 1969 in Central Florida for growing long hair. The good
ole boys didn't like people with hippie-hair (my term). I
observed many years later the younger crop of good ole boys
grew their hair long. It's a goofy world.
But back to limitations, I think Pro Tools limitations are
beyond reason. Not allowing someone to "cut" mp3 files and not
allowing them to store their work on their own hard drives ?

Pro Tools lite came with my first USB interface. A one input
thing. The interface had latency issues and I couldn't get my
head around Pro Tools at all. Pro Tools is I think the 800 lb
Gorilla as far as Professionals are concerned. which to me means
       it's probably over my head.
Given that both you and Bucky prefer more straight ahead musical
endeavors, I could certainly see where software that is more
geared towards achieving an end result with the least amount
keypunches, and a smaller palette of digital effects and tracks
       would serve you better.
But both of you have the luxury of complete command over your
instruments. That's a gift I do not possess. I need to cover up
my crappy playing with as many digital bells, whistles, and
artificial drums as I can get my hands on.
