aj... the first thanksgiving was a massacre of over 500 men
women and children... historical records are abundant and show
where mercenaries were hired by the governor of the
commonwealth. its a travesty that we dont teach the truth and
we perpetuate lies as honesty... its a huge part of whats wrong
with our people today, imho. example, the trail of tears, a
forced death march, is now shown in textbooks as a willing
movement of indigenypeople to make room for the new settlers?
fuck me running with a chainsaw, please... we will never evolve
until we recognize our mistakes as being such. we are capable
of being so much more.

All true unfortunately...What the Europeans and their
descendants did to the Peoples of The Americas was the greatest
crime against humanity in human history.

I don’t know anyone who thinks the Trail of Tears was voluntary.
I’m 26, but learned about what we did to the Indians early on in
elementary school and again in high school. I know some people
who think Andrew Jackson was akin to Hitler.

bucky, what we taught six or seven years ago was closer to truth
than what had been taught to us in the 60 and 70s .. being half
red and half white has allowed me to move in both circles easier
than most. it comes with its own set of challenges but the
advantage is helpful. there is a push going on to drive the
last nail into the indigenous coffin in our country. textbook
changes in elementary and middle school are being reworded for a
more gentle experience, evidently. the passages i read were
outright lies... voluntary relocation to make room for their
new brothers and sisters... culturally and morally
reprehensible.. revisionist history used to discredit and
disenherit an entire race of humans...
a side note, as much as land can be owned, i own the very spot
where the great indian killer, andy jacksoff jackson, made his
camp and center of operations for the first death march. he
tried, god bless his little inbred heart, to remove all the
choctaws from here... jackson is long gone and choctaw songs are
still heard on this land, every day... A, Chahta sia! sia
hoke! (yes, i am choctaw! i am still here!)

Jackson lost his spot on the $20 bill. Perhaps Red Cloud, Crazy
Horse, or Tecumseh would have been a more apropos replacement
than Harriet Tubman...I don't know.
Given all the wrinkles and flaws in Presidents, and other
Historical figures in American History...perhaps it would be a
better idea to replace all portraiture on currency with the
Natural Wonders and Animals of Our Country.
Mountains and Rivers don't lie...Canyons don't steal. Buffalo
don't grope. White tail deer don't ask Russians for covert
favors.
