A Lyric

A while back, Mark L put up a music track on Brain Vomit and
asked if anyone wanted to do anything with it. I took him up on
it. I worked for several weeks on it, and while I was relatively
happy with the lyric I wrote, I could never get a vocal
performance I was happy with.
Eventually, Mark went ahead and wrote and sang some great lyrics
for it. I was really disappointed in myself. I think Mark is a
great talent and I felt this was a great fail on my part.
Anyway, I'd like to get your impressions on the lyric, good,bad
or indifferent.
Words
I'm tired of inequity
I'm tired of unfairness
I'm simply tired of what is not right
Period
I'm tired of the status quo
I'm sick of opinions
Opinions the loudest amongst us
Profit from
Change is just
Change is just a word
I'm sick of governments
I'm tired of the Leaders
Seems not to matter
Who rises up,
They just get knocked down
The unseen powers behind
it all
Just pull the strings
The landed gentry control everything
Freedom is just
Freedom is just a word
If you've got a new idea
I'll listen
I have not closed my mind at all
I don't think so
I have not given myself over to complete despair yet
Have you words
That are not just words
Words that are real
Words that mean
I'm tired of hearing of all these gods
I'm sick of the dogmas
No God worthy of us
Would order us to
To kill or conquer
I'm tired of seeing the bodies
I'm sick of the anger
The ravings of lunatics
The calm demeanor of evil
Faith is just
Faith is just a word
I am not saying that those words
Have no value
They just don't have any for me
There is only one word
One word that means
Love is not
Love is not just a word

I'd like that. I just sound too fucking melancholy singing it I
think I still have a version of me singing it to Mark's music. I
sound like Death.
Would be cool if you or Dave could write music for it. Mark's
music was really good....But i guess it inspired melancholy in
me, hence the flavor of the lyric.

I was going to say that I need to hear it in the context of the
melody, phrasing, and song in general. But I guess now it's
just a set of lyrics. I might have a go at it. Maybe. No
pressure.
