Keep us up on that build Bieke...Would be cool if you could run
a build thread with pics a la Freeman Keller over at HC...Wish I
could afford to commission a build from that Cat...Man he does
some beautiful guitars.

Since you guys showed some areas in your musical spaces, I got
the idea to share my middle room. It's got my big percussion
(drums) and my looper and my vinly albums and CD's.

What's that under the headphones in pic 1?
Very cool, eclectic collection of stuff Dave!
I like the fact that you're a little less than tidy...Reminds me
of Me. ;)
Thanks for the share!

There was a set set of new Stuart Blackguards for sale on
Reverb..250 USD awhike back but I think the listing ended..
new in the box they go for 275.00 plus shipping?
I played the American Fender 52 tele while trying them
out..they wanted $1799 back then..think they are up to $1999
now..beautiful, pickups and neck were amazing..they through in a
more modern wiring kit if you wanted to switch...
Much as I loved it I was sticking to my 1500 dollar limit for a
single purchase back then..I think my MIM Tele was about 600
hundred..
I never heard of Warmoth bodies..got to look them up..
What is the guy asking for the Blackguards...?
I had a nabe who did a tele build and he added the
'B-Bender'...
he is really good with nitro finishes..beautiful work.
He was good to have around..he would do set ups for me, never
would take any money..but he and his girlfriend had a fight..she
threw him out..still has all his refinish tools, pickups, guitar
necks and bodies etc in a part of her garage that he had set his
shop up in.
She asked me recently if I wanted any of his stuff...I declined,
but told her I would try to contact him before she started
cleaning house..or would hold his stuff for him at my place.
I know he used some tone rider PUs on one of his builds.

thing is, you can't get them new, at least over here you can't
the European distributor is like 20 miles away from where I live
and that's where I first heard these pickups, couple of years
ago
he was asking 375$ for a pair
he then had 4 or 5 sets, now he no longer has any left
the local seller probably got his set from him, and was asking
225$
I made a lowball offer 125$ (thinking he would then sell them
for 175$ or so, but he accepted my offer)
now trying to arrange the transaction, seller did not get back
to me yet
:-\

well a Tele is not really a daunting project, once you have all
the parts, it takes about 10 minutes to assemble a Tele
20 minutes tops if you stll need to do the wiring/electronics
;D
I'll take a couple of snaps

I think you're asking about the Yamaha snare drum the tambourine
is sitting on AJ. That was an Ebay purchase maybe 15 years ago.

Hey, Laddies..
I've been AWOL from here and my other haunts....my brother from
Oahu is on the Mainland buttoning up his purchase of a Lakefront
house in Charlotte NC ..and came up to Zoo Jersey to visit..
we've been beachin' it, visting, and hangin' out..
Last night I went to see Buckingham and my gal Christine McVie
and the Wallflowers at the Mann in Philly..
damn ducky concert..I had me some good seats.
Will be checking in and posting some more pics of my modest
guitars/amps..I have no expensive gear, most I ever forked out
was 1224 USD back in 2001 for the ric 360/12 ..
I only buy new, (except for a 60's Framus I bought in Belgium in
1980)
I don't trade, sell, or modify any gear, just give some stuff
away..
So, in essence, my gear is pretty mundane and plebeian, but
utilitarian..
Hope to post some more in the future...wife wants to go to
Puerto Rico for our upcoming birthdays this month..
Who says retirement is a boring and idle time?..
The Italians have a great phrase... dolce far niente ...'it is
pleasant to do nothing'
later,
Luke

2002 American Fender Stratocaster.
Fender, in the good ol' days would have a yearly sale on all
'murican Strat Standards.
I think it was about a hundred bucks off list price this was
$699. plus a hundred 'Fender bucks'..where you could pick a
buncha swag from the Fender catalog..I got a Fender Bar stool,(
which was selling for 89$ retail..6 packs of Fender Silver
Bullet strings, 3 collapsible Fender guitar stands in Fender
bags, 100 assorted picks..
price included a HSC, Fender strap locks, the pictured
strap..wipe cloth, tools, etc.
It was a great deal..I obviously chose the Maple neck..
This is fresh off a set up and string change...
This guitar holds tune forever.
picis taken in guest room @ Luke Manor
