imagine the US government banned civilians from owning assault

No, I would not revolt Nick.
I do not own any assault rifles.
I do not NEED nor covet an assault rifle.
If the shit gets that heavy me and mine are probably dead
anyway...Me before them though.

think i'll leave now. it's been fascinating gents, thankyou. we
are so far removed from each other on the subject of guns
though. 600 innocent people shot by 1 man, and you're STILL
defending his right to own the tools he used to do that. insane.

Damn. Left over difference of opinion?
It’s not like we pulled the trigger or weren’t going to punish
him.
And my earlier point about the middle east wasn’t a statement
about war. It was about mentality. We could’ve bombed the shit
out of Afghanistan until it didn’t exist, and many people wanted
us to. I didn’t give you my opinion on the war.

many wars...

Imp is a good man. Besides it's really late over there in the
Isle of The Windsors....Everyone is entitled to their opinions
in this humble Forum.
We 'Muricans are a breed unto ourselves. It's hard for those

many wars...

I’m not sure of how I feel. We’ve been at war for over half of
my life, and my political, ethical, social, and personal views
evolved since 9/11.
My mom was a Republican until fairly recently. My dad despised
Bush and Obama. I think Bush and Obama had their good and bad
aspects and I didn’t hate them, but I voted for Gary Johnson in
2012 and 2016.
I don’t think we can end things now, but I don’t know where the
finish line is. See, I know we invaded Iraq for the wrong
reasons, but Saddam sure was an asshole. When it comes to
Taliban and Isis, it’s difficult to wipe out a belief. It’s like
the Crusades at this point.
I’m not a pacifist, either. War is an unfortunate necessity in
this small minded world. What were we supposed to do after 9/11?
How were we supposed to respond to Isis? With indifference? The
only problem I have is: when does it end? We’re probably going
to have troops stationed there for decades to come. We still
have troops in Korea, Japan, Germany, and other locations.
