       Any Spirit/Randy California Fans here?

This is a bootleg recording I made of Randy California's solo
band playing "Nature's Way" here in Houston way several years
aster Spirit had disbanded. There was a program on for a while
on a local tv station that broadcast real time performances,
simulcast on a local radio station. I heard he was going to play
and set up my RTR and recorded it.

That guy left this earth in a very sad way... :(
       died a hero.
Do you remember that he played in Hendryx's band Jimmy Jame's
       Blue Flames?
       or sumpin' along those lines...

Since it's so easy on YT, I think I'll check them out sometime
soon while I'm washing (hair , body etc). I can crank up the
volume. BTW, my living room window is attached to the TV via an
HDMI. And there's a sound bar attached. Decent sound.

Yeah. in fact Hendrix was the one who dubbed him Randy
California....And yes he died saving his kid from drowning....
       I thought he was genius..

Believe it or not, Jimmy also called him Randy Texas.. :)
see If I can find a reference..
as we used to say in the Military 'Wait 1'
please stay on the line..your call is very important to us...
       Thank you for holding;
I was wrong..Jimi called another guy in the band Randy Texas to
       distinguish the two ..to wit:
The stage name "Randy California" was given to him by Hendrix to
distinguish him from another Randy in the band, Randy Palmer,
       whom Hendrix dubbed "Randy Texas".[1]

Listened to some of a (Spirit) double album yesterday. Much of
it was pretty trippy , which I liked. "I've Got A Line" was
quite a production. In general, they seemed to spend a lot of
attention to detail (i.e. arrangements) - something else I
       liked.
Here and there over the years, I've come across people who were
fans of Spirit. They never quite crossed my radar way back when.
The problem there was that usually I had to buy an album before
hearing it. This led to disappointment sometimes.
Anyway, Spirit was damn good. And, although I'm not positive
of this, I think they were the first Rock&Roll band to feature
a shaved head bald guy in the band.

Pretty astute observation of the clean cranium factor on Jack
Cassidy. He was Randy California's stepdad as well. And a
helluva drummer as well. Love the drumming in that band. "Uncle
       Jack" was about him actually.
They caught my attention with "Mechanical World". I love that
song and it was unique in the soundscapes back then, Randy's
stabbing, trippy guitar playing in that one really caught my ear
and imagination back then. I think their music still holds up
       really well today.
