Moves galore!

[center]Pelicans, Knicks swap talent[/center]
The New York Knicks wasted little time with former first round
pick Tim Hardaway JR, after a decent first season averaging 10
points in just over 23 minutes a game, he has been shipped to
the Pelicans. In the deal the Knicks also sent recent free agent
signee Jose Calderon, who is coming off a slightly down year
averaging 11 and a half points a game and only 4.7 assists a
game down significantly from his career average of 6.8. Jason
Smith goes back to the Pelicans after signing with New York this
off season. He came off a year where he averaged just under 10
points and 6 rebounds a game in just about 27 minutes of game
time a night. Jrue looks to further his career alongside Carmelo
Anthony, where the triangle offense is being implemented by Phil
Jackson and Derek Fisher.
The Pelicans shipped one of the better young point guards in the
league in Jrue Holiday, coming off an injury filled season
limiting him to only 34 games, in which he averaged 14 and 8
assists a game. He's still just 24 years old. John Salmons was
sent to New York as well, the career journeyman is now on his
7th NBA team, starting his career all the way back with the
76ers in 2002 as a first round pick, while he has been solid as
a player he has never been one to be really feared. Hardaway Jr
joins a young Pelicans team loaded with potential talent.
Outside of Anthony Davis, not many have stepped up to the
expectations, Eric Gordon has been injury plagued in his seven
years in the league, never playing in all 82 game. Tyreke Evans
has not lived up to his fourth overall draft slot, while he has
shown flashes of brilliance in games it hasn't rolled over to an
entire season. Injuries have also slowed down Evans also not
participating in a complete season, let alone playing over 72
games a year.
There have been several teams interested in free agent Ray
Allen, after he left the Heat after their loss in the finals.
According to sources the Warriors and the Rockets have been in
contact with Allen about potentially joining their teams. We
will keep you updated if and when Ray decides to play his 20th
season.

Spurs get in on the action!

[center]Spurs sign two[/center]
The San Antonio Spurs have gotten in the pre season action
acquiring both Andray Blatche and Ray Allen, according to a
reliable source within the Spurs organization. Both Ray Allen
and Blatche join a veteran group of players, Spurs have just 3
players under 25, vying for another shot at a title in what
could very well be Tim Duncan's final year. Allen reportedly
will receive a one year deal worth 6 million while Blatche makes
out like a bandit, locking up a 2 year deal for 12.27 total,
with a team option for a third year. To make room for the new
players the Spurs have waived Jeff Ayres and Austin Daye.
Allen is looking for his third NBA Ring with a third team he
looks to join Robert Horry and John Salley as the only players
to win a championship with three separate teams. The 10 time all
star hinted at the thought of retirement as the Spurs knocked
the Heat out of the finals last season, but the offseason is a
long one and he finally decided one more year was in his body,
it will be his 20th 82 game grind. Blatche a mid level player
for a majority of his career joins a front court that is very
dangerous even with Duncan declining just a bit.
When asked about Allen and Blatche both players that Agent
Campbell represents, he had this to say.
"I wanted what was best for my clients. There was one other
offer for Ray that had more money, but he wanted to play for a
championship caliber team. For Blatche he wasn't making a living
over seas and when I got the call that the Spurs wanted him,
Blatche and I knew that this would be a good idea for his future
in basketball."
Certainly two solid moves for a potential back to back
championships for the Spurs.
Another source within the organization has informed me of a
potential blockbuster that could send Kawhi Leonard to the
Pistons for Greg Monroe. The fourth year pro has steadily
improved all of his stats since year one in the league, though
he does have a bit of an injury bug, never playing more that 66
games in a year.

Rondo on the move again?

Rajon Rondo just started looking for a new house in Dallas;
however, he may want to hold off before making a purchase,
according to a source within the Mavs, Rondo maybe on the move
again. The location may just surprise some people, Chicago,
Bulls. Derrick Rose. Talks are intensifying between the two
GM's, moving Rondo for Rose would be a big upgrade for scoring.
Rondo has never been an elite scorer (13.7 in 2009-2010) but he
is a play maker one of the best passing guards in the league
today. Rondo makes his living picking apart defenses, posting
high assist numbers almost every night no matter how long he is
in the games for. The past couple seasons have been injury
filled only playing in 30 last year and 38 the year before. One
he gets healthy he is a major threat to put up a 12 point 12
assist night every night. Defenses beware. Rondo is coming back.
The Mavs say they expect a deal to be done soon. As for now
though, Rondo, keep looking for a house, I hear Dallas is nice.
