How have the past two years been for you?

This time two years ago I was house-hunting in KL and the Mrs
was working in Singapore. In March 2020 I foolishly took a long
weekend to Hat Yai instead of Singapore to get a new 90 day
Malaysia tourist stamp because my Mrs was busy with work that
weekend. Little did I know I wouldn't be able to return to KL
and wouldn't see my Mrs for many months to come.
I've explored the entire south of Thailand since then. T'is a
pretty good substitute for Malaysia although more primitive of
course. And the southern Thai dialect isn't pleasant on the ear.
Apart from that it's the best part of Thailand by far. We still
can't wait to get back to Malaysia though, and it's going to be
Sabah or Sarawak on Borneo rather than KL or anywhere else on
the peninsula. Roll on 2022.

Yep and my new years resolution was no alcohol at all in 2022,
not that I consumed much in 2021.
Sticking to it so far. Didn't make any new years resolutions in
2020, and my 2019 resolution of being done with Thai forums got
reversed by covid, meaning I
i) unexpectedly ended up being back in Thailand long-term and
ii) spent more time online in 2020 and 2021 than I'd hoped.

Pretty much had the luck of the Irish before and during the
Chinese Wuhan Institute of Virology SARS-CoV-2 lab-leak global
pandemic, managing to get my 4 month SEA tour around The
Philippines and Thailand in late 2019
Arriving back in Australia early December I headed to New
Zealand and based myself in Tauranga in the province of Bay of
Plenty and stayed for the summer where I have an investment
property, allowing me to carry out back-dated maintenance, ditch
the useless property manager, while enjoying the summer season.
As it was rented out I stayed with a friend I had worked with
offshore in Malaysia. He's all about strip clubs and booze so we
had numerous weekend trips up to Auckland to take in the strip
joints
I was considering staying there long term & moving into my house
however at the end of summer my old employer in Australia asked
me to come back, which I accepted
I departed in March 2020 and as luck would have it I was on the
last Air New Zealand flight into the state of Victoria before
passengers had to quarantine for 2 weeks at home
I've been back for coming up close on 2 years and we've been
through around 6 lockdowns (I've lost count to be honest), Its
good to have steady employment over the pandemic (others
haven't) and being in an essential industry where there have
been no disruptions to the salary
2 weeks ago I moved into an apartment I recently purchased & I'm
now in the position where I might ask some Thai or Pinay hottie
to join me here in Austalia. I'm still working on that as you
all know we have been unable to enter those countries, only
Thailand recently. Just waiting for the airlines to catch up
with their services
