       home with a doctor or a nurse had so far raised more than

       Sounds like she was relying on some crap insurance policy
       provided by her school that covers a maximum of 100,000 baht or
       something nonsense like that.

       I do think that the problem was the unsafe balcony , rather
       than her age , drinking and taking photos

       But was it unsafe? Or was she drunk and leaning heavily on a
       balcony rail installed 25 years ago by low skilled workers? You
       wouldn't do that if sober.
       Nor should her family take it for granted that UK taxpayers will
       pay for her recovery when she emigrated six years ago.

       Drinking and falling off balconies happens a lot. Fatalities
       involving taking selfies does too. She seemed oblivious to this
       which makes her an idiot.
       I have no problem admitting that I'm "afraid" of heights. It's a
       basic survival instinct.

       TEFLer in Thailand.
       I think that is a big part of it....a foundation for the things
       noted above.
       I hope for all the best.
