       Would China prefer to invade Russia or Australia?

       China would love to get its hands on the natural resources that
       both of these countries have. However, Russia, although it's
       army is rapidly depleting, has nukes, and Australia is friends
       with the US.

       Lets see how they get on with their invasion of Taiwan first
       Russia would be easier for China to invade as they share a
       border, and China is seeing how useless the Russian forces are
       in Ukraine. If there was a way to negate the Russian nuclear
       arsenal then they would be ripe for invading
       Invading Australia properly would have to be done via the sea,
       it's a long way away & the logistics of that would be
       insurmountable. Australia also has the ANZUS security pact with
       USA - An armed attack on any party will mean all parties will
       act to meet the common threat. An invasion is possible but
       Australias isolation is its best defence
