link into another country. How long until they use it to ferry
in military personnel and equipment?

Why would they need to do that? They already own the place
through debt servitude.

Any you boys been to one of those shitty Chicom/Lao casinos?
Few years back, a group of us crossed the mighty Mekong River at
Chaeng Saen and spent a couple of days at the huge casino on the
Lao side. What a miserable place! Nobody spoke Lao or Thai and
the food/customer service really sucked!
Apart from Vientiane, you can have the whole country - not
impressed...
